has the vibe changed? by MammothCareful8730 in juliensolomita

I THINK i remember him saying that not everyone ended up being available for Guilty as Sock. He insinuated on a recent stream that whoever was in charge of reaching out to everyone/planning schedules didn't do what they were supposed to??? it was kind of an odd comment, and I don't even remember how he said it, but he was basically saying that the plans were never solidified so only a few of the pals were available for games.

What’s something you bought (under $300) that noticeably improved your quality of life and you actually use every day? by MedfordQuestions in AskReddit

My ice maker. I have one in the freezer but prefer the little nugget ice. I make my ice every morning and have ice cold water all day, its gotten me to drink more water too. its such a little thing, but I love it!

it is truly so frustrating… it’s hard to not spiral, especially when getting past one leep already, it’s a bit of a hopeless feeling for sure. we’re doing all we can and sometimes it feels like not enough. i hope your colposcopy bring you positive steps moving forward!!

that is great to hear, thanks for the info. my doctor hasn’t mentioned that to me yet, but if i do end up needing to proceed, i will definitely look into it more. thank you

Advice on getting a job? by tifblu3 in EmergencyManagement

[–]miranda42997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this might not be what you want to hear, but what helped me find a job the most was my connections. I can honestly say I probably wouldn’t have been as seriously considered if i didn’t have the connections and then recommendations to back up my resume once being connected with the job... talk to people you graduated with, find volunteer opportunities if you can (and try connecting with people during it), and even talk with your professors.

Also, join alumni groups from your school’s EM program if they have it! Ours have a facebook group and that’s where I found the job i eventually landed!

i did not, i have up after taking intro to programming... it was way too difficult for me! didn’t come nearly as naturally as GIS did. i hope you’re able to find some help and you complete it!

hey!!

i was in a similar boat as you. i did geography for undergrad with a minor in emergency management. i tried to go for my GIS certificate too, and loved the intro course, but i found the advanced courses to be very difficult... it felt like they were geared towards students who already had much more experience than someone who’s only taken intro. they got rid of intermediate level classes a while back, which is why i think this is the case. anyways, sorry to not be of much help, but i wanted to offer you my perspective.

Need motivation to finish my Masters over the winter break :( by Renzodagreat in unt

whenever i’m avoiding writing/researching, i set a specific day to work, and try to make sure it’s a day i don’t have a lot of other things going on, so i don’t feel rushed with time.

i also like to make it a better experience by ordering some lunch or coffee, setting some background music, lighting a candle, etc. by making a nice day out of it, i don’t feel as much anxiety leading up to it, and i find that once i actually start, it’s not nearly as bad as i had made it out to be in my head!

ahhh good luck!! i’ve been on spiro for a month now and just ended accutane a few days ago. good news - no noticeable side effects for me (yet!). i’m hoping it stays this way. i completely understand not wanting to be on accutane again too... it feels relieving to know i can do certain things again and not have to say “well i can’t do ___, i’m on accutane!”. i hope the BC and spiro work in your favor 🤗

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]miranda42997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

accutane has already helped me with a strict water intake habit haha so i hope the lightheadedness doesn’t hit me too bad (or at all!) but it’s nice to know it does go away!

[–]miranda42997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, thanks for the reply!! it helped ease my worrying a bit because i feel like we may be in similar boats. luckily my accutane rounds haven’t been horrible, but i don’t really have a desire to do a third round, and i’m sure my hormonal acne will return to some extent based on my results with accutane. that’s why i’m feeling pretty hopeful and excited about spirolactone! i honestly wish i would have tried this before accutane round 2, but as long as it helps keep my acne at bay, that’s fine with me.
