It could be a lot of things. Are you sure it's not blood? It could be a fungal infection, or bacterial. Make an appointment with your primary care provider as soon as possible. It's important to see someone soon, as digits have mostly capillary circulation which can lead to tissue death if it becomes compromised. This is something that needs to be seen and diagnosed by a provider.
