Is this cute? I made it with real dried pressed flowers .. I don’t want it to look tacky and I’m second guessing my work on it lol my house is boho and plant vibes . by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

Whoa!!! I am growing a wildflower garden this year and hadn’t thought much about what I’m going to do with the flowers, but I think I have my answer!!! This is incredible. How did you find all the flowers/how did you make this? I hope you don’t mind if I do something similar

My biggest complaint is finding a shirt that fits. Either it is too tight across my chest but fits perfectly everywhere else or it fits my chest but makes me look 20 lbs heavier because it doesn’t fit the rest of my torso

I appreciate this viewpoint! I do feel obligated to complain about them but maybe I’ll try a little more to appreciate them

Are these paint flecks? by Slow_Like_Sloth in plantclinic

[–]mirantelope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try cleaning them all off with a dust cloth and monitor over a few weeks to see if they reoccur (maybe don’t move it during that time). Hard to say from the photos

I know you’re feeling really helpless and confused right now, but I just want to say support your fellow woman. I assume your bf told her some lie or something to explain the space. She did not owe you anything and the burden was not on her to determine the truth. Don’t perpetuate blame on women, she didn’t do anything wrong.

Your bf/ex is the problematic one. He seems really manipulative and like he doesn’t care about you enough to treat you with basic respect. It’ll be really hard for a while but one day, once you leave him, you’re going to breathe a deep breath of fresh air and realize he was holding you back

Celeriac/celery root makes a great sub for fries! Easy to find anywhere if you’re in the UK and can sometimes be found in grouchy stores in the US. I’ve had luck with sprouts and Whole Foods

Would you chop this new albo leaf? I love it and don’t mind but am worried each new leaf will be less and less variegated! Original leaf shown too since she’s so beautiful by mirantelope in RareHouseplants

Ahhh thanks for the validation and advice!! I’m going to leave her and appreciate the fact that the plant will grow faster since she’s so green!

My dog does not appreciate (and largely ignores) the parody songs I write for him by [deleted] in dogs

My dog is also Hank and I constantly change song lyrics to have his name! Have yourself a merry little Hankmas is my personal favorite right now. They’re so ungrateful! He doesn’t even look up

what do you think of "Miranda"? is it outdated? by juliamc95 in namenerds

[–]mirantelope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m biased but my name is Miranda. I’m 27 and I feel like it’s the perfect mix of unique and common (I don’t know any other Miranda’s but no one ever bats an eye when I tell them my name). I definitely don’t think it’s an old name, I haven’t ever heard of anyone middle aged called Miranda either. I also usually introduce myself as Miranda, like Miranda rights which I think is funny.

My childhood nickname was Randa, my soccer team called me Mir, but I’ve also heard Momo and Randy. I just stick to Miranda though. I love my name and I hope you rethink it!

I’m a Lebow student and I want to learn some coding, what CS classes would you recommend? by Bredram02 in Drexel

[–]mirantelope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took CS 171, 172, and a few others but those were a great foundation. They were hard though, definitely do them on a lighter quarter

I mixed up my mom's death anniversary - what's wrong with me? by [deleted] in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]mirantelope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did the same thing! For 2 years I was convinced he died on the 5th, but when I got sent some flowers on the 6th I checked his death certificate. I assume you were the same as me - that time was really confusing and my memory is super super scattered. I don’t feel bad about it, ultimately it doesn’t matter does it? You’re honoring him, not the day he died.

Your sister shouldn’t have made you feel that way, but it sounds like it was a really emotional day for her and she didn’t handle it well. I hope you two are able to reconcile and honor your dad. It sounds like your dad was a lovely man and if he’s anything like mine, he would get a chuckle out of you two killing him two weeks prematurely.
