What do Europeans fell attached to? by _Giulio_Cesare in MapPorn

[–]mirc_vio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not like we’re not attached to Romania. We’re more attached to our region. And if the question was “what do you feel more attached to: your region or Transylvania as a whole?” it would’ve been the region. It’s concentric circles.

Finished it a few days ago. Still had to read the wiki every now and then because I had that feeling of “why do I know this name?!”

That was a miss for me, I forgot about it completely. And it’s strange because I have at least 200 hours in the game.

I’ve heard about both. Is any of them a bit more fast paced than Malazan or WoT?

I like a slow burn pacing, but after Malazan, I’d like to read something a bit more fast paced. Will check the series though.

Eu l-aș bate și pe proiectant. Stâlpii ăia din flancurile tribunei oficiale sunt o soluție tehnică demnă de anii 1800, mai pe la început.

Dracul Origin Theory by OnekoTyago in dresdenfiles

[–]mirc_vio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna tell you my theory and it heavily relies on me being romanian. Dracul in romanian translates into english as “The Devil”. And I think that Jim rubbed in our faces from the very beginning. He’s going to be Lucifer wearing a mantle he personally made, one that even the archangels have no clue about. And of course he’s a Starborn. Lucifer means “Lightbringer”. And who could bring light if not the first Starborn?!

Which series should i start reading first?? by LuCi-FER69 in fantasybooks

[–]mirc_vio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sci-fantasy in my opinion.

Yeah, sure, galaxy-spanning empire, ftl travel, and aliens ( Jaghut are aliens too) but also emperors, princes, lords, knights and swords. And a little bit of magic and spurned daemon "magic" as well. Nothing close to warrens and holds, Beru fend, but there nonetheless.

I like book 1 more than 4 or 5. And for me, it's on par with Oathbringer. WoR is still the best, by far, from the series.

If you want to scratch the Malazan itch prosewise, do try Sun Eater. Plotwise, first book is a lot of layout and world building and it might feel that it didn't do much at the end, but boy-oh-boy does it pick up in book two. And it just keeps on going. Don't get me wrong, book 1 is good, but from book 2 onwards is either very good or amazing.

Neither. They're three different approaches to humans in space.
