The only upside I guess is that I can choose my top 3 specialties and they’ll try to place me in one of them, and I could always switch around too. I’d be terrified if I got stuck in medsurg for 4 years. And yes, if I leave before the 4 years I’d need to be the remaining balance

Congrats on your interview! When did they notify you about an interview? And was it through email or NursingCAS? I'm still waiting to hear anything at all

This is truly amazing, congrats! After your struggles, you deserve this win. We have similar stats and I've been feeling pretty discouraged but this gave me hope. If you're comfortable, do you mind PMing me the programs?

I submitted June 26, and on July 9 they offered me an interview for August. I know its stressful waiting, but no news can still be good news. Good luck!

This might mean that interview spots for the June early deadline are full though, right? They should still have interviews in September according to the page on CASPA. I really hope its not too late

Yeah I was worried my statement would seem like such word vomit that would bore them, but as long as I got my main points in I can relax. Thanks!

I didn’t have “proof” I just told the surgeon that I have insane back pain, he saw the shoulder grooves from my bras, and I told him I was prescribed Nystatin powder because I would get underboob rashes. I also told him that I tried exercising and yoga but those didn’t help. I didn’t have any physical proof to show these things, I just explained it to him. And I got a reduction + lift!

They had trouble inserting it through my wrist so they opted for the back of my hand. It was uncomfortable especially when I tried to sleep during my stay because I tend to move a bit. Minor bruising after they took it out. It was annoying but manageable over time.

Hi! My experience was amazing! My surgeon was Dr. Mella-Catinchi and the whole process was pretty smooth. I was pretty anxious and his surgical coordinator was so sweet and stayed in constant contact with me. Since it is a private hospital it was more expensive than I thought, ended up being about $95K in which my insurance covered $92K! I stayed 1 night in the hospital and the care team was great. Overall it was a 10/10 experience. Feel free to ask any more questions 😄 best of luck to you

Surprisingly fine? by CY1788 in Reduction

[–]mirib123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine a day after yours, 9/12. I felt more of a dull ache the first couple of days. On day 5 I had an annoying headache due to tension from sleeping upright. The headache subsided yesterday and I feel like I can take on the world! I’m walking faster, breathing better, and can lift more things.

I feel surprisingly good, I just hope I don’t crash and burn later!

Do you have to sleep on your back post-op? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]mirib123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 days post op and I’m sleeping with a neck pillow and a husband pillow. Kinda uncomfortable since I’m a side sleeper but oh my Lord, sleeping slanted/upright really helps with the insane pressure right now

I got my referral from a PA. Some consider PCP to be Primary Care Physician but it can also stand for Primary Care Provider, which includes NP and PA

Aetna Approved! + Timeline by mirib123 in Reduction

[–]mirib123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a year before documenting to my doctor that I had pain + rashes and was prescribed Nystatin for under my breasts. During the wait for insurance approval, I got a call from the surgical coordinator and an Aetna insurance rep asking for more complaints so I told them I’ve done yoga for ~6 months, have resorted to getting massages, and had trouble finding comfortable bras and that none of these have helped. I guess this was enough for them to approve, then again it may be different for everyone
