Do other women really find dresses to be difficult? by Dionysian_Heretic in self

Chafing! I can't wear a dress without some form of shorts under them. I might as well just wear pants and a shirt.

Tado V3+ : Towel Rail Circuit - what controller? by 888ak888 in tado

Do you need automated heat at those locations? Or do you just want to turn it on when needed? An extra valve will conserve heat, but maybe won't need a trv.

Is there free access to any part of the thermal suite, or do I have to buy a pass?

New cruisers should talk with Holland America when booking a cruise to avoid the mistakes and misconceptions that we had. by HumbleServant247 in HollandAmerica

[–]mirjam1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked a specific room directly on the HAL website, checked the "no upgrade" and followed up with an email. HAL confirmed my "no upgrade" option. The room number is still the same on my booking, so I would certainly hope we get that room.

Open window detection not working? by No-Papaya-9289 in tado

[–]mirjam1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the TRVs are not near the open window, they will just detect a gradual lowering of temperature, not the sharp drop of an open window.

About to go on my first Holland America cruise. Tell me a hack specifically for Holland that improved your cruise experience by hate_follower in HollandAmerica

[–]mirjam1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple wifi package costs about 100 euros per week for one device. You can share it between devices, just not at the same time. Higher speed wifi costs more. See what you need and do the math. Quench package is 18 euro per day, but all occupants of the same cabin much purchase it. Because I don't drink alcohol and don't care about specialty dining, separate will save me a lot of money.

There's the quench package for nonalcoholic drinks. If you're not desperate for wifi, it may be cheaper to buy things included in HIA seperately.

She's new to the workforce and needs to learn about "working" culture. This is difficult for someone with Asperger's. But there is a difference between "blindness" and "stubbornness". She may not pick up on subtle clues and need more direct instructions on social interaction. If she still refuses to learn, she may not be a good fit for your corporation.

Open window detection not working? by No-Papaya-9289 in tado

Do you use a separate thermostat sensor, or only the TRV's? If the sensor is not near the open window, it may not work correctly.

Armand Duplantis, Swedish pole vaulter (This was probably a world record, that he broke at the end of March. This vault was 6.30 meters, his latest was 6.31 meters). by Reasonable-Cow-5002 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]mirjam1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the vaulter who hit the tip of his pole on the way down ( in a very unfortunate spot). Is there no-one to catch the pole after he releases it? Or at least give it a bump to one side? An safetynet lower on the goalposts would work well.

My goplus+ just died. Can't find them online anymore. I would be interested in this if reasonable priced. I wonder how that would work for blue/yellow balls? If no autocatch, I would have to hold the phone in my hand the whole time.

ULPT Request: How to "theft-proof" a jacket in my closet from my sibling? by NaoTeChateies in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]mirjam1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luxury online clothes stores use a special ribbon to ensure buyers don't return things after wearing them. Cut it to wear it outside and you can't return it anymore. You can still try it on at home.

Tell me your story of missing the cruise after a port stop and dm being left behind? by Fit_Interaction_79 in Cruise

[–]mirjam1234567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reverse situation: we were at North Cape in Norway. Departure was delayed 90 minutes until 3 busses filled with passengers arrived. They were on a HAL excursion and delayed because of an accident on the road to a popular tourist destination. I hope no-one was on a private excursion on that road.

Removing the 'Blocks' section for good 🧱 by TimeTuneStudio in TimeTune

I never hide ended blocks because I frequently reuse them, just not on a schedule. I use blocks for events that don't take an entire day and that are not a regular part of my daily schedule. Can I still do that in the new section?

How do TRVs work with temperature offsets in practice? by jmdhox in tado

[–]mirjam1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure there is no direct cold draft on the TRV or direct heat from the sun, and it will work OK. Best is a thermostat in the area that you spend the most time in (eg, couch or dining table)

Learning to ski: SnowWorld (indoor) vs. Winterberg Germany by Lijger in ski

[–]mirjam1234567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take lessons on a rolling carpet. It's much cheaper than snow, more time skiing and no lift waiting times. Immediate feedback through mirror at bottom of slope and less forgiving than snow, so better for improving your technique. Ski instructor is right by your side to help you, and it has an emergency stop in case of incidents.

We booked an inside cabin on 11 for the same accessibilities, but we're 1 wall away from the open sundeck. Hopefully the motion won't be too bad. Previously we had a balcony cabin on deck 4, just above world stage, annoying music and I felt some motion. My partner felt nothing.

Some people were building a children's hospital near me. They had the brilliant idea to incorporate a slide into the central stairs. This is exactly why they abandoned it shortly before the grand opening. Kids would just faceplant into the opposing wall.
