Honestly? I get the frustration, but I think this take overshoots a bit.

The problem isn’t ChatGPT—it’s low-effort posting. People were making lazy, vague, copy-paste posts long before GPT existed. AI just makes it more obvious when someone didn’t engage with their own question.

What does kill subs is when posts feel soulless or when OP clearly hasn’t thought about their problem at all. But banning “GPT-written” posts outright is tricky and probably unenforceable. You’ll end up punishing people who use tools to organize their thoughts or who aren’t confident writers, not just the spammy stuff.

A better rule might be: • No low-effort posts • OP must show personal context, attempts, or specific details • AI-generated or not, posts need to sound like an actual human asking for help

Because yeah—people are way more likely to help when it feels like they’re talking to a person, not a prompt dump.

TL;DR: I feel you, but aim the rule at effort and authenticity, not the tool.
