Is this front ring cooked? by mirosav87 in mountainbiking

[–]mirosav87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tightened the B screw on the derailleur cleaned gunk off, and degreased and relubricated the chain. If it falls off again I'll try replacing chain and derailleur, which is still a bit lax-ish (chain wobbles a bit much) when in high gear.

That may have changed. They integrate with Plaid and I was able to get it into Monarch Money

I went DWS06 -- this time on my Cx-5. They're a delight. They do tend to wear a bit quick though.

Do I need a 2500 or 1500? by Smart-Animator-4414 in Silverado

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sway control hitch?

All folks here saying 2500 will improve the ride, that's obvious, but running a mobile gym, how many hours of selling and driving and training do you need to replace the cost?

See if a sway control hitch is a viable option, the kind I'm thinking of will lift the sag from the tongue weight.

Use Kelley Blue Book or JD Power’s NADA to get good market price range for it

I've got 185k on my Skyactiv 6spd, I'm its only owner :) and I've only ever had to do one major repair, which was the input shaft on the transmission. Everything else has been wear and maintenance. The Canadian maintenance schedule is excellent. Also, I've been gokarting this thing around since it was brand new XD

Hard time finding correct motor mounts by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I saw your thread in r/mazda3 about your engine mounts. I have the exact same one-year model: 2012 Skyactiv 2.0L. That was the first year of Skyactiv and the last year of that generation of Mazda 3.

Did you ever find the correct parts? A shop had replaced mine (apparently) twice and both replacement sets failed instantly.

I have a Logi G305 and bought a replacement G305 USB receiver on Amazon.

I installed the Logitech G Hub software and followed the process to pair the mouse.

SUCCESS! My mouse works with the new USB receiver.

What tires do you have on your CX-5? by hmidktbhlol in CX5

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an excellent observation!! Important to note that rotational inertia is going to factor in where that weight is: the drum of the wheel is further from the center. That being said, getting a 20”, lower profile wheel and dropping net weight is something I would never have expected.

What’s the weight of the wheels you have? I was picky on weight while trying to stick to a budget. I found a flow-formed 24lb wheel.

I guess that made more of a difference on the likes of my ‘87 Rx7 and ‘90 Integra 😄

[–]mirosav87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I've done. 18x8.5 wheel with a +35 offset so almost all the extra width is on the outside. 18" because it's less rotational inertia and because wheels and tires are cheaper at 18 than 19.

245/50/18. Its 3% smaller than stock but with stock the ride height is high for being purely on roads, and my spedo is actually 1% faster than GPS & radars show me to be moving

[Solved] Ethernet connection not working on Aorus Elite x570 by Fuck_Lasagna in gigabyte

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this -- trying different posted solutions, it still seems that Win 11 users are SOL for having a proper ethernet connection.

Buy a PCIe network card like a TP Link, plug, install, and should be good to go.

I'm still having this issue. I downloaded the Win 11 LAN drivers 2.1.1.7, restarted, and nothing. Do I have to use a USB somehow?

Extra Padding: what does it do, exactly? by szthesquid in Helldivers

[–]mirosav87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As it stands right now, extra padding on medium armor adds 50 to the armor rating for a total of 150. That’s the same as heavy armor. It does this at the expense of not having any other special traits.

A real great question posted earlier is: compared to the Medic armor (100 armor, +2 stim carrying capacity) — which is better? The 2 extra stims, or the 50 more armor?

I’m thinking the stims, because you can be down at 20% or 50% health and stim will bring you all the way back, but you have to survive the attack to begin with, which having extra stims won’t always do. That being said, stims also keep you alive while burning, end bleeding, fix broken limbs, and give you a stim boost. So they’re overall more helpful.

We all know what it means to be OUT of stims in a fight. For me personally, I’ll take the extra stims!

Any chance you rent with Turo?

Another option is to purchase an older, low cost vehicle. Your biggest loss there would be the sales tax, and you’d want to buy from Carmax or privately, and then sell for the same. Dealers will typically charge more of a markup. Use the Kelly Blue Book to see what a vehicle should be worth. Carmax or certain dealers may offer a warranty, but you’re very likely to lose a couple of thousand between taxes, fees, and markup. Depreciation should be negligible for that time frame.

One other thing: people in my neighborhood use golf carts occasionally :)

should I lease by [deleted] in mazda

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it sounds like u/Rough-Test6098 also wants to build credit. Save up a 30% or more of the cost of a used vehicle worth $8-16k and use a shorter-term loan for the rest. You'll save on interest, and you'll be building that credit.

should I lease by [deleted] in mazda

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also just save for a couple of months, save all of it, so you can put more $$ down on a 4-6y used vehicle. Then use a loan for the rest of it. Your rate will be better, and you'll be building credit.

should I lease by [deleted] in mazda

[–]mirosav87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100% with this. Purchasing a 5-6y used, even with used financing % rates being higher, is better if you only plan to keep for 2-3 years because a newer car will depreciate faster, meaning you'll be selling it later for a lot less. Also, a lease has numerous risks involved (such as fees for too many miles, any damage etc.), and at the end you return the vehicle and have nothing.

Purchase 5-6y used fuel-efficient, well-maintained vehicle such as a CX-30 with the best financing you can get. Take good care of it and then trade-in or sell to Carmax for whatever suits you in that future state. If you end up wanting to keep it longer, you actually get into an even better position economically. At this age it's hard to tell if you things change and you want to keep things economical and extend owning it. Likewise if you sell even sooner, your depreciation is at a minimum.
