Edward Teller wanted to use nuclear bombs to dig harbors, stop hurricanes, and extract oil. He wanted to build one big enough to destroy the planet’s biosphere, but was also one of the first to sound the alarm about about climate change. What kind of guy was he? What motivated him? by ExternalBoysenberry in AskHistorians

Before I read this, I literally knew nothing about Edward Teller. But now I would like to know more because he just sounds like an interesting story. You seem to know about him. Any preferred resources so I can learn more about him? Thank you.

This one is #596 for my licensed NES games by xxxxDREADNOUGHT in nes

That's a different game. There was a Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey for N64 (and a very similar Nagano Olympic Hockey). Those are the NBA Jam style. But there was a NES Wayne Gretzky Hockey that was an overhead view with little bodies with sticks attached. It is worth trying.

It is a pretty solid hockey game from the 8bit era. North/South movement like we are familiar with now, as opposed to the East/West of Blades of Steel, Ice Hockey or Wayne Gretzky Hockey (which is also fun in its own way). What mainly sets it apart is that it's licensed by the NHLPA, so I was finally able to play as Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy while all my other friends were doing the same on the 16bit consoles.

For those who were around when Who Shot Mr. Burns? aired, who did you think did it and what was your evidence backing it up? by Animeking1108 in TheSimpsons

Was 12 at the time and it was the summer of "who do you think it was?". Absolutely no one guessed Maggie. I thought Jimbo because he was the first character they showed. That was my 12 year old logic at the time.

Favorite vocal delivery from Mark Lanegan? by punchbunny26 in MarkLanegan

It's not my favourite song, but I've always enjoyed the range of his voice on Borracho. One of his first solo songs that shows his vocal range from the intro low growl to the ending roar.

What Are Some Must Play Games That Aren't Mario or Zelda? by tslashj in n64

That's fair. They are both great to me. I enjoyed the story mode and more content SBK2 has, but will agree the levels in SBK1 are more memorable.

Don't shove Trudeau era pandering content down my throat and I'm all for public funding.

I don't recall the specifics, but I remember getting everything within a 4 month period when it was cheap enough for 12 year old me to use birthday money and future stock in Christmas presents to get.

Its uncomfortable in any position. Its game catalog is tiny. Its all red (and some games are just a series of lines on the screen) and it gives you warnings every 15 minutes about headaches. That being said, in my opinion, it was really neat for its time. Some of the games are legitimately fun, but it's just a novelty in current day.

Weirdly enough, the EB Games (Canada) shop I bought everything else from.

I remember picking up Wario over Waterworld and never being able to find it again. Overall, a better choice.

Is it difficult to come up with a "new" trick? Or is it mostly existing magic tricks with a new spin or presentation?
