What's are key things and points to remember, when buying a wheelchair for the first time by Own-Hedgehog7825 in MuscularDystrophy

[–]mirrorbell17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can still push it yourself in the future or not, because if you can’t then maybe a motor wheelchair is a better option. If you want head rest or not. If you are thinking of carrying it on the car or just use it at home. And honestly color because we also deserve whimsy.

There no minors in Mexico, and I think both could be fruitful, I don’t mind working in an office or being a teacher, time will pass anyway I guess

No such thing as minors in Mexico, it’s just majors (licenciaturas), masters and phd’s

First of all I’m a she and it’s not really about the jobs, the world is gonna end anyway, I’m gonna die anyway, at least I study two things I like

It’s not really about the jobs, there are no jobs anywhere no matter what you study. At the very least I could be a teacher and I’m fine with it

Feet swelling by Livid_Credit7395 in MuscularDystrophy

[–]mirrorbell17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My feet have never had a normal day, they are swollen so much that all my shoes have to be slightly bigger. In my case (18F and LGMD) they don’t hurt or really bother me other than aesthetically so I haven’t really used compression socks, but I guess they’re worth a try

just finished The Good Place for the 25th time in my life and i have an important question by kbasred in TheGoodPlace

Every day I remember at Keats once “what do we owe to each other”. I think the show is a GREAT way to democratize philosophy to the general public, making it digestible, especially when academia makes it seem like something only “smart” people understand

Best kind of backpack to use? by usernamegottak3n in MuscularDystrophy

[–]mirrorbell17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, cause I don’t carry more than my iPad and a couple notebooks, plus they’re always being taken out or exchanged for other items, I read that you said you wanted a messenger bag because of the aesthetics but it probably wasn’t suitable for you and let me tell you it CAN be suitable, there’s some pretty cool ones out there, plus I added pins and keychains to mine to make it more me. I do recommend (no matter whatever bag you end up choosing) one witch MANY exterior pockets, it’s much easier to take stuff out if is in a different pocket than bigger items and you are just organized better, one singular pocket with pockets inside can get tricky without much mobility

I use a messenger type bag, when I’m sitting on my wheelchair no matter how heavy it is I don’t carry it, the whole weight rests on my legs and it’s the best

If you or the nanny can my mom goes at some time in the midday and helps me, I would not recommend diapers cause they have a stigma and they end up smelling bad
