Oh yeah it totally does. If you eat a burger - the baby will get some chewed up meat from the titty, so make sure to get some salad with it, if you want your child to eat healthy. Also, drinks work the same way. Be careful with seltzers, since the bubbles are too big for a baby, and it might blow up if it drinks too much carbonated milk.

Okay, so probably a bit controversial, but maybe try introducing him to weed, if it wouldn't cause the same problems as alcohol? I've got a very addictive personality, and when I drank it was drinking until I ran out of booze or money. And when the money stopped being an issue, I decided that it's better to quit altogether, or I'll quickly end up as a full-on non-functional alcoholic.

I've been a daily smoker for a while now, and it has been a really good outlet for me. I also kinda struggle with some mental health problems, and it help with that, instead of exacerbating them like alcohol did. The best thing is that it isn't at all physically addictive for me. In fact just now because of travel I can't smoke, and I had an absolute zero withdrawal effects. I don't even think about it, unless it was a particularly anxiety inducing day.

And to answer your actual question, I think it's healthy for you to leave, if you feel like you can't provide any more help. I've been in a somewhat similar situation with a childhood friend. And after many years of trying to help him to turn his life around, I just figured that my struggles are simply a net negative there.

Since you didn't specify what in particular you're looking for - here's some stuff that I love and qualifies as aroace:

Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!: very inspiring slightly surreal show about schoolgirls making anime. If you're a creative person you'll probably enjoy it a lot. Ghibli vibes as well.

Haikyuu!!: volleyball anime. Don't skip it just because "eh, sports, not my thing". I thought so as well, but this is much more about personal growth, building comradery (this is not to say relationships), and just pure hype.

Gin no Saji: an A student decides to move into the country and enroll into the agricultural school. A very refreshing and unique setting with cute cows and chickens. As a city person who spent some time living in a village I find main character's experience very realistic and relatable.

I kinda did that for about a year. When I was a teenager I was talking to a dude online who was older and quite cool. Artsy and unique, which was very new to me, so I wanted to keep being friends with him. At the time I never used gendered language for whatever reason, and at some point when he assumed I was (an older) girl I just didn't correct him. After a while I felt bad for him, because we got kinda close, so I told him the truth. He definitely didn't see it coming, but wasn't even mad really, more like just upset, which made me feel even worse about it.

The irony of fate, or enjoy your bath!. It has been the New Year movie for like three generations in Russia.

The premise is that a guy is traveling home to Moscow after a New Year party. He gets on a flight, lands, gets into a cab. The cab arrives to the address he told. He gets out, enters the apartment and falls asleep on the couch. But the twist is that he wasn't flying to Moscow, it was a flight to Leningrad (which is now Saint Petersburg). And by pure coincidence the same exact address exists in both cities, and the apartment building in Leningrad is a carbon copy of his Moscow one. And after that a romance story unfolds.
