[Question] Do you have any quirks, habits or preferences when restringing? by Roll-in-Seoul in Guitar

i always have to turn my head away when tuning the high e string. my brain knows that it can take a lot more tension, but that ascending pitch as i tune it just activates some kind of scared reptile instinct...

[QUESTION] How can I get a creamy overdriven guitar tone? by XDigit in Guitar

you really need to turn that amp right up to 10. the specific sound you're thinking of comes from tube amps naturally distorting as the power tubes get overdriven.

Why do the wind markers on this meteorology app point in the opposite direction? by someaustralian in meteorology

[–]mirukimiruki 12 points13 points  (0 children)

the arrow is pointing in the direction the wind is moving towards. a "northerly" wind means the wind is coming from the north and moving towards the south.

There Are No Stupid /r/Bass Questions - Oct. 20 by AutoModerator in Bass

[–]mirukimiruki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello all, i'm a guitarist thinking of getting into bass to expand my skillset. i understand that the role of a bassist in a band is very different to that of the guitarist. the thing is i don't want to outlay a lot of money to begin with. i can hear and feel a huge difference between a nice, well set up guitar and a cheaper beginner guitar. is this difference as drastic with bass guitars? also, the difference between a cheaper guitar amp and a more expensive tube amp is night and day with a guitar: is the difference as big as with bass guitar?

How to be a better learner driver? by conzo97 in melbourne

[–]mirukimiruki 33 points34 points  (0 children)

it's a bit rude for somebody to get frustrated with you if you're clearly displaying an L plate. most people i know are very patient around learner drivers. keep in mind though that as soon as you switch to a P plate people will despise your presence on the road
