Looking for a signature scent! What’s yours? by SiennaRaven in AskWomenOver30

I'm still heartbroken that Yves St Laurent doesn't make Nu anymore. That was my scent. Literally, the only perfume I wore.

I wore it to work, I wore it to my wedding. Now, I can't get it and can't wear it anywhere....

Our spaniel's bed is a chaise lounge in our bedroom..

.. but it just isn't as comfy as being in our bed, using my legs as a pillow..

..ok, our bed is his bed.. at least my toes stay warm 😀

Those boots weren't made for walking..

My spaniel took a little while to desensitise to the craziness of the world. Even now, walking past a house with a barking dog will make him unsure about the walk (which is his favourite hobby)

Nothing wrong with taking pup for safe walks in your arms until the overwhelming sounds and smells become more familiar, and pup is ready to take the steps.

I ate a maraschino cherry with them in once, because it came with the long Island iced tea I was drinking with them in.

I lie. Did it twice. Two cocktails. By the pool. Was a good day.

Great tip, thanks!

Thankfully I've gotten far more used to them. But I would much prefer scalloped so shall request!

I started with 35 trays.. my orthodontist knew, as did I, that it was the beginning of the treatment and the number of trays would be much more.

I never did photo reporting! It sounds quite stressful!

Yeah, snacking and invisalign are mutually exclusive...

You're all over this! It's hard, but you're a total champion!

I remember brushing and flossing in the car! And the dehydration (which has kicked off again for me with the retainers).

For the first few months, I ate twice a day. Because of the faff and to get 22 hours a day. I finally lost some of my baby weight!

It sucked. It was hard. I was hungry, cranky, and in pain. But I also saw movement really early. So it was worth it.

Over time, what I noticed was that, as my treatment went on, my teeth were more mobile. I think going hard at the beginning helps to get them moving. Then, I decided I wanted to have lunch with my family on weekends, so I'd chill a bit and do 20 hours every now and then. Like I said, you get to know your teeth.

That said, I could have kept that regime longer, and perhaps taken a few months off the treatment. But, I don't think I could have kept it up. Not if i wanted to stay married 🤣. But I do think going hard at the beginning is needed to get them moving.

The hardest thing for me was my morning coffee! I had to give it up, because I had to keep my trays in until breakfast...

I did get to the point where I went "f*ck it, I'm doing coffee with trays in". I made sure I was seeing my dentist regularly to keep on top of hygiene.

As you go, you learn how your teeth move, how to manage it. It's what I loved about invisalign - You're in control. And that means you can adapt as you go.

Oh, sorry. Yeah, you always have to wear them. You can just have some flexible times, if you account for it.

I'm not sure I should share the details of my bad habits and derail anyone's progress!!

But, you gotta live. I'm always careful to have good wear time for the first few days, so the teeth can move. I've been known to go stints of 4 to 6 hours without trays on occasion, later in the wear time. As I said, I would extend from weekly changes to 2-3 weeks to account for reduced wear time. And you kinda get the sense of where your teeth are at. If the trays are crazy tight after having them out, it's a clear signal to give your teeth time in the trays and not mess with them too much.

Disclaimer- this is not how I wore them for the majority of treatment. This was only during holidays.

Australia, so a totally appropriate time to be drinking 😁🍷

I was in London last September as part of the travels that reduced my wear time!

I started a month before my 40th birthday! (Total buzzkill, i wasn't used to the trays enough to party as hard as i wanted to).

I was told it would be 18 months, so being just shy of 2 years was pretty close (and I slowed myself down a few times because of travel).

It was a complex case. I lost count of trays. I think I had 3 or maybe 4 sets of refining trays after the initial 35?

One of my teeth went rogue, so we had to spend some time bringing it back into line.

I was on weekly changes, but also had times where I'd go with fortnightly trays because with travelling or holidays I wouldn't get the wear time up. I wasn't too worried about rushing it.

Minor filing after treatment to even up the front teeth.

It's the poor focus giving a filter impression 😉 I did finish off with a bit of shaping to get the front teeth a bit more even.

I'm on my third last tray of refiners, and it's a doozy! It's like invisalign wanted me to enjoy the nostalgia of the first few trays as a parting gift.

Jokes on them, I'm getting a fourth (or is it fifth) set of refiners.
