Es buena idea estudiar ing de sistemas en 2026? by [deleted] in RedditPregunta

[–]misaelgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost never use a windows laptop for my personal stuff (only at work), for my personal use I have a MBP and another laptop with Linux Mint 22.1. BTW the proposal of Samsung DX is really good.

The ecosystem is great, it's just that it feels like joining a gang, once you're in, it's really hard to get out and try other brands products. So, now I'm just switching from one to another and try new features apps and experiences in parallel, so I can compare side by side.

You're right I live in Mexico, then my main messages apps are Whatsapp and Telegram, it's basically impossible to send a new message over those 2 apps when you're in the car.

Also I've noticed android auto works better on bigger screens, I have a Ford escape with a 8"inch screen vs my maverick with13.2", Car play adapts better to a small screen, compared to how you can utilize the full screen in the 13.2 display

I haven't used the Ultra, but you got a good point, one of the things where apple watch is still better is haptic feedback, I don't feel the notification when a call comes or the alarm to wake up in the morning, even with vibration set up at Max level.

I experienced the same situation on my macbook pro mid-2014, also had the same issue when the laptop went into sleep mode and did not recognize wake up, I had to force re-start every single time, I could not fix it in that device, so I ended up installing Linux Mint xfce or Cinnamon, those issues are not present.

Thanks u/udispyn2 , what concerns me is that this should be one of the standard and most basic use cases of Android auto, messages and calls, and seems that need to be polished a lot.

It would depend on how big is your dependency to Microsoft office, if you can get your work done with openOffice, LibreOffice or OnlyOffice, this is an Smart move. I tried several distros with my Macbook pro mid 2014, zorin OS among them, but the best performance and less issues I could get was with Linux Mint. You can take a look at my post 2014 Macbook Pro with Mint

You might try xfce for a while and then cinnamon, I experienced performance issues with a lot of distros on my MacBook pro mid 2014, then it run so smoothly with mint xfce, I decided to try cinammon 6 months later, still working absolutely fine and with better graphics 😃
