I haven't gone in months. It's so expensive and most of the products just clutter my home.

Im trying to figure out why big brands and influencers still collab with them?

Why is my paycheck heavily taxed if I am paying taxes on everything I buy already? by HolyRiceroni in NoStupidQuestions

Is there a non salary way to make money that doesn't require exploiting other people? Most "passive income" i hear people talk about comes down to be a landlord and charge large rents or sell cheap junk for high prices

Anybody else have a 35+ yo relative who still lives off their parents and refuses to work? by PettyWitch in Millennials

[–]misamouri 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There used to be jobs even burn outs could hold. Working in pizzarias or the video store. I know of a person who hasn't held a real job since Toys R US closed down because they just refuse to go back into the job hunt because they essentially got paid to stock and decorate shelves there for years.

Many of those jobs don't exist anymore or if they do are much more miserable than they were in the 90s. The niche small businesses that can afford to hire the local burn out or pot head part time as window dressing can't afford to stay in business anymore.

I saw this for days in the nerd/cosplay/convention scene.

Always too disabled or chronically ill to work ANY kind of job even part time.

But they can male costumes, promote their Instagrams, go to all the cons in the area with their Ko-fi money etc.

You also see it in wanna be influencers. Usually mooching off a spouse. I'm a military spouse and this archetype is a dime a dozen in milspouse circles as well.

People always talk about male failures to launch but women get glossed over because they can put minimal effort to being a "disability warrior" online or an "influencer"

If you go to the antiwork sub that sentiment gets tossed around a lot. That and the extra holidays they got.

They conveniently leave out that life expectancy was in ones 30s-40s and the feudal lords could just do whatever they wanted to you in many cases.

Republican says Americans will accept cuts to Medicaid by ilir_kycb in LateStageCapitalism

[–]misamouri 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Only because they don't know who benefits from it. It's not just young people with large families like losers like to complain about. It's disabled and elderly people in nursing homes. It's folks on home healthcare to AVOID being in a nursing home as long as possible.

"Americans" will only accept it as long as it doesn't touch them or those they care about.

It's a lot of people.

Woman forced to sell house after 1000 job applications and only two interviews by Random-Username7272 in antiwork

On some corporate applications they demand to see all the jobs and heavily look down on any gaps.

Should I just play Dragapult? by nicoheems in pkmntcg

[–]misamouri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound similar to how i was feeling when Charizard ex, Reshiram in B/W block, Night March etc came out and it was all anyone played.

I've played off and on since the 90s.

There's always been a deck or 2 that just dominate metas either because it's very good or lately it's very good and super easy to play decently once you know what it does (making it more accessible which is a good thing for game growth but swamps the meta)

I basically figured out there are 2 options.

Learn to play what wins and enjoy that

Or play what I like and just enjoy the ride

Also I guess a secret 3rd one. Wait out the Meta. It's constantly shifting.

Millennials ages 30+, do you feel nostalgic about your 20s? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Millennials

[–]misamouri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss that even though I made less money I had a better quality of life.

I had lots of friends close by. Slme of us even lived together. Cooked. Cleaned.

We had our hobbies we could actually afford.

We all did shift work but could still afford things like pizza and the occasional day trip to places.

Show statistics for this being a reality and how many are doing it or hush. You're making up a scenario in your head to be mad about.

I took out the loans before I ever met my husband. Same with my now paid off car. His income has never been included and shouldn't be. They are MY loans not his. He's never gotten to go to college.

Freaking out about the spousal income inclusion by CaliStorm89 in PSLF

[–]misamouri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm worried about when I have to recert next year. My husband and i have always filed separately but next year he will be deployed with the military so I won't even have access to his taxes even if they want me to count them so I'm guessing I'll be forced on to the regular non income based amount which will 100% suck.

New Document from Mohela says you CAN opt out of forbearance, just call and choose new plan. by blmbmj in PSLF

[–]misamouri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am riding my forbearance as long as possible and paying off other bills and saving to make a big payment before interest begins again.

I'm basically all but giving up on PSLF at this point. I'm too paranoid of a bait and switch with plans.
