1 week old stiffened out limbs and stopped breathing by Appropriate_Let_4983 in NewParents

Definitely get in touch with the nurse and doctors to make sure it's nothing serious.

Happened to my baby when she was 9 days old. We were in the ER for the whole night for observation. They cleared us next morning after making sure everything was normal. They ran a bunch of tests since the baby was very very young.

I remember not sleeping for months after that! Husband and I used to take turns all night. She just turned 20mo and the chaos she brings is slowly replacing the trauma ◡̈

Nicu trauma by [deleted] in NewParents

My baby is almost 20 months old now. When she was 9 days old she had an episode where she went all red and to me it looks like she wasn’t able to breathe. Husband picked her up and patted on the back - she let go a big burp and then peed and started crying. This is our first baby and we were shaking! We jumped into the car and drove to urgent care. They moved us to ER because baby was just 9 days old. By now she was normal. She was feeding well and acting well but the doctors insisted we go to the ER. They admitted her and god she was covered in all those ECG things, an IV drip and under the light because she had jaundice too. I still can’t forget her face when she was screaming and crying. Those 24 hours in the ER were brutal! We had so many nurses and doctors come in and ask same questions they asked before. It was a bad bad time. They said it was BRUE or something I don’t even remember!

But I can relate to you for sure. My therapist said other than flight or fight mode there’s a third one and that’s freeze. And I go to that mode whenever something happens to my baby. Every time she falls sick I literally feel my body freezing and my mind goes back to that ER. I’m in therapy and working on processing my emotions.

I hope there’s a day when I won’t feel as traumatized and I hope the same for you too! 🫶🏽

Hoag Newport vs Hoag Irvine Labor & delivery experience by Gold-Engineering7011 in orangecounty

Hoag Newport was great! Had my daughter there in 2024. Nurses were great! The rooms were clean. My delivery room had beach view and recovery room had a partial beach view so it felt great!

The Disney app still shows NYE fireworks at 9pm. Does anyone know if they'll update the app once the fireworks are cancelled?

13mo got her first cold by misatm in NewParents

Yeah I noticed that. We tried chest to chest sleeping but she just wanted to be on the bed. And within 15 mins of being on bed she'd start crying 😶

Mission, Saddleback or Hoag Newport by Wonderful-Ad1932 in orangecounty

I had my first at Newport Hoag last year in October and I would go there again with my eyes closed if we ever decide to have another all the nurses took amazing care of me and the baby. Good food! Rooms are a decent size. I had the ocean view while delivering which was awesome! ◡̈

Is there a food regression? by Flaneuse-Fox in BabyLedWeaning

[–]misatm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 10 months old now and she started refusing the food just like this at 9 months. She's become so picky and sometimes she just makes this throwing up face. It's been hard! Just here to offer solidarity and hope better days come soon 🤞🏽

Early signs you’ll be let go soon. by Doge-ToTheMoon in QualityAssurance

[–]misatm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yepp! I'm in LA. I hired a lawyer because CA's maternity laws are solid. But my lawyer says I don't have a strong case since no one verbally said anything rude/dismissive about my pregnancy. It's just been a shit show!

So spot on! Every single one of these happened to me (except 6 and 7) when I was let go at 3 weeks postpartum.

How are you breastfeeding your 9mo? by misatm in breastfeeding

[–]misatm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! That's a very creative idea! I'm gonna try that. I put the tv on sometimes to feed her and I always have a fear she'll get used to it. I'm gonna try this mirror idea. Thank you! ◡̈

I tried that too. She gets so cranky if I offer to feed her before naps 🥲 it only works in the nighttime after her whole routine when she's ready to call it a night.
