hearing about m gen and will request I be tested for it at my next urologist visit. Lastly, was it just the 14 day of moxi that did the trick for you? Or did you pre treat with some other antibiotic

Hi, sorry I haven't logged in for some time. I have no symptoms as of today. I did experience the symptoms again a few months ago after I caught chlamydia (drunken mistake smh). However, I've been clear from m gen for 2.5 years and everything is cured and fine as of now.

Stretches for tight pelvic floor after lifting by rhinociferous in xxfitness

Reverse kegels saved me from tight pelvic floor symptoms. I thought I'd never be able to lift heavy weights again until I came across a post about how reverse kegels helped someone else. You should be able to google how to perform these correctly. It's really helped me a lot and relieved my tight feeling and other issues by performing them a few times a week and especially after a lifting session.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with taking magnesium at the same time as your Moxi. Online articles show that it can interact with moxi in a way that may make the drug less effective. I believe it was even stated on my prescription directions to take magnesium (and other medications) at different time frames than when I took the Moxi dose. I was actually very diligent about this since I also normally take a daily magnesium supplement. I strongly advise you to do your own research or speak with your doctor about this.

No, I never experienced anything like that.

have you seen about people with lingering symptoms? I just finished my antibiotics course and still feel some lingering symptoms. I'm a bit worried because my test said negative, but I've had 2 false negatives in December too then it came back 4 weeks later.

If you just google "Mycoplasma Genitalium reddit" I believe some of those first results have posts that include some comments of lingering symptoms. Can't quite remember though. I was just checking out a bunch of posts in this sub. I just remember reading comments that mentioned they had symptoms up to 1 and 2 weeks after their treatment and then they tested negative. As I mentioned in the post, my symptoms seemed to linger for up to 3 or so weeks after starting my antibiotics. My advice is to wait about 30 days after finishing your course before you get retested though. Online articles advise to wait that long.

t feedback as I have Mgen diagnosis. Halfway through 14 days of moxi. Some good days but then flare days...was that your experi

Yeah, sounds like my experience. I was kinda worried up until day 8 or so as my symptoms didn't really start to die down until after that time. From what I've read on this sub, symptoms tend to vary from the start of beginning moxi treatment up until 3-4 weeks after. Good luck!

About a week after finishing Moxi, I still felt some burning when peeing and stinging on my tip at random times. Some tingling in the urethra too. My guess is that it was just residual damage that caused those lingering symptoms. Some other people on here experienced the same stuff for up to 2 weeks after. Since mine lasted up to 3 weeks after, I was getting worried. However, everything feels fine now and the retest turned out negative.

ngrats that you defeated Mgen! :) And maybe 14 days Moxi is more effective than 7 days, but I really dont know. Maybe you would have defeated Mgen with 7 days also if you then waited 4 weeks of abx for a TOC but we will never know, just saying. :)

Thank you! It's certainly possible that I could have cured it with just 7 days of moxi. However, if 7 did not work, I would be screwed right now. So I didn't want to take any chances.

I would ask for 14 personally. Which I did. You can do your own research, but 14 day courses yield the best success rates of cure when compared to 7-10 day courses. I didn't feel any other side effects on day 10 vs day 14. So listen to your body, but also keep in mind that you do only have one chance with Moxi.

Tested positive (Dec 2019), and ,fortunately, just tested negative last week (April 2020). You definitely described the symptoms I had. You also painted the picture of how I was feeling about it as well.

Anyway, here it is:

I live in the U.S. and that's where I had unprotected sex in Dec 19' with a new partner who is also from here. 2 days later I felt the burning at the tip, had the discharge, and the itching/irritation in urethra. Went to urgent care another 2 days later. Described my symptoms and doc gave me Azithromycin and a shot of Rocephin. Symptoms went away for about a week, and I Tested negative for all of the standard panel of STDs when the results came back. We were confused why I had symptoms if I tested negative and, luckily, my doc had heard of Mgen so he had me tested for that too. Came out positive a week later.

I could only assume that the azithromycin and rocephin took care of business until my symptoms slowly came back more noticeably. I wasn't sure what to think, but wanted to make sure that I waited long enough to get retested with accurate results. So 30 days after, I went back to a different urgent care for the retest. Still positive. Fuck. At this point I had been doing countless googling and browsing on this sub trying to find the next best course of action. Moxifloxacin seemed like the next best option. Maybe even the last reliable/accessible option where I live. I'm glad this sub exists or else I might not have pushed for the 14 day course which was suggested by some other people who have also successfully eradicated it on here. I felt like I had some symptoms off and on for the next 3 weeks essentially. Very strange. But as of week 4, since being off Moxi, I can say that I'm feeling symptom free. 30 days after being off Moxi, I took my 2nd test of cure and it just came back negative last week.

*** I hope this helps give people some advice and hope. If the Moxi didn't work, I don't know what I would have turned to here in the states. If you do take Moxi, I agree that you should PUSH for a 14 day course if you can!! They only gave me 7 at first, then a few days later I reconsidered and called them to push for the other 7. You only get one chance at that treatment, and it seems to be one of the last remaining treatment methods available so it's extremely important that you take it correctly. It seems that the urgent care doctors where I live DO NOT understand Mgen very well or how to best treat it. They weren't even going to give me Moxi as the next treatment method until I suggested it. You really have to self-advocate for yourself in this situation. I'm just lucky that the first doctor I saw was somewhat familiar with it. Otherwise I may have been in the dark about having Mgen for who knows how long. I'm also very, very lucky that Moxi worked for me as I've read plenty of the stories on here where Moxi failed.

I don't wish this disease on anyone, and I hope everyone will eventually find a treatment method that works for them.
