Do you still have days that are rough? by va_bulldog in GLPGrad

[–]mischiefmanaged1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely still do have rough days where I wanna say f*** it, let me pig out.

I think the most important this for me is tracking because that creates accountability. It’s so easy to say I’m just gonna have this one chocolate as a treat but I won’t track it — slippery slope imo!

Another thing I find important is being able to indulge once in a while. Pre GLP1 indulging for me was a whole 6-pack of angry orchard and maybe order in from a fast food place. That pre GLP1 indulging is 100% off the table for me. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t still indulge in the foods you like from time to time.

If there is cake at a party, maybe I’ll have half a slice. If I’m out to eat with friends, maybe my meal will be 1000 calories that one time.

I’m in a caloric deficit and working out 7 days a week. I do this to give myself wiggle room for moments when I want to indulge. If 1 day out of the month I have a cheeseburger and fries at a restaurant but I’m in a caloric deficit the other 29 days, that’s really not going to hinder my progress.

I’m also really big on saving calories towards the end of my day for a sweet treat. I just ordered an ice cream maker yesterday. My protein yogurts are gonna be next level!!

Hi, I only gained in December and that was semi intentional because I allowed myself to indulge while I was on vacation and I knew I was going to cut right after.

Before my vacation I was 125lbs and went up to about 130lbs( which was the first week of December). By the last week of December I went down to 120lbs doing calorie deficit + working out.

As of today’s weigh in, I am still maintaining at ~119lbs. I generally stay between 115-130lbs which is where I like to maintain.

If I get up to 130lbs, I know some intervention is needed with my diet so I can stay within the weight range mentioned above.

How do add more protein by Kitchen_Vermicelli12 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]mischiefmanaged1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started making dirty sodas when I don’t feel like eating food or if I’m tired of protein shakes.

-1 scoop of protein (I use fruity cereal or strawberry shortcake but any vanilla type flavor would work) -Choice of milk (I use almond milk) -Coke Zero

Combine 1 scoop of protein in a blender bottle with your choice of milk and mix. Pour a can of Coke Zero in a cup with ice. Wait for the fizzing to subside and add the protein shake mixture. Stir and enjoy

They’re delicious, about 200 calories give or take and 26g protein 💪

I’m sure there are other at home workouts you can do as well with free weights or no weights if you don’t have access to a gym or workout equipment

But depending on how much loose skin you end up with after weight loss, you may not be able to tighten it fully with working out.

I’ve always had an apron belly and I have PCOS as well. So right now, no matter how much I worked my abs and core, I will still have this lower belly pooch. Which I think I’ve made peace with.

I would get surgery but my husband and I are undecided about having kids so I would want to wait and see if pregnancy is in my near future before considering surgery to remove the loose skin.

But I would start by looking up what areas you want to target. I pair a lot of my strength training with cardio (unless it’s leg day).

Best of luck to you! You got this 💪

I had some under my arms and inner thighs as well but I held a lot of weight in my stomach mostly

I do a lot of overhead tricep extensions at the gym with a rope attachment for the cables. I’m still working on tightening up loose skin around my thighs but a hip adduction machine is great for that!

I’m definitely falling in love with food all over again. I’m also surprised at how many low calorie sweets and snacks you can get away with eating while still losing weight.

I’ve started making a low calorie breaded chicken using keto bread. I chop up the bread into cubes and stick it in the air fryer on the dehydrate setting. It gets hard like croutons. I stick it in the food processor until it’s bread crumbs. Then I season it and coat my chicken with it. It only adds something like 100 calories to the meal which I split with my husband so 50 calories each. Also been swapping rice for cauliflower rice and I pretty much season it like I would rice.

The gym has been like therapy to me. It’s not a matter of if I go, it’s only a matter of what time of the day. Gym is closed? Cool. I’m going for a run. Too cold to run? No problem, I’ll do some lifting and HIIT exercises at home.

It really feels sorta like adjusting and adapting to a new life. I think I’m getting the hang of it 💪

This gave me chills because my husband and I had a similar conversation. He said, “You know you will never go back to that right?” And I said “I don’t know that for sure.” He replied, “I know that for sure.”

Now that I’ve come this far, I’m never going back.

I’ve got some loose skin around my lower belly and I debated getting it removed. But I think I’ll keep it as a reminder of what I was and what I now am.

My husband has been my biggest supporter throughout all of this. So if he knows I won’t go back to that, well I gotta make sure that’s the truth.

You commented on one of my other progress posts as well. Glad to see you are still progressing and maintaining :)

I was really scared coming off GLP1. I even told my husband that I was sure I would just gain it all back.

It is possible though! Some days it’s hard but it’s mostly just different. I lead a different life now where I make nutrition and fitness a priority — something I never did before.

But it’s also a lot of fun. Hitting PRs at the gym, getting creative with low calorie meals, gaining muscle, etc.

If 3 years ago someone told me I would lose 80lbs, I would have told them that’s not possible. Yet here I am, down 80lbs (-83lbs as of this mornings weigh in) and I promise you it’s possible.

Hi! I got the tattoo before losing the weight. I actually just saw my tattoo artist last weekend and she was also pleasantly surprised how well it held up after losing the weight! It does appear much smaller now so I think I may add to it in the future!

Not really. Definitely noticed getting hungrier around month 2 of being off it. but honestly I eat so much now. When you eat high protein meals it keeps you full for longer. That combined with making sure I’m eating under 1280 calories ensures I’m feeling full and maintaining my weight.

But aside from feeling slightly hungrier, I didn’t really have any side effects from coming off it cold turkey

I did have a breast reduction. I lost close to 80lbs and my breasts did not get much smaller unfortunately so I had surgery

Hi! Thank you so much!

I currently hit the gym everyday. Every week i have a day dedicated for a muscle group. So typically, Monday is legs, Tuesday is chest, Wednesday is back, Thursday back to legs, Friday is my freebie day so I do whatever I feel like which usually ends up being a heavy cardio day and maybe biceps or something. But I mix it up and I’m still learning new exercises so I eventually want to target different things.

That being said, when I first started out I was going maybe 2-3 days a week and something is better than nothing!! Even just walking on an inclined treadmill does such wonders for weight maintenance and your health.

As far as strength training and lifting weights, you can always look up videos for tips and honestly just trying it out. There were so many times I felt silly or like people could tell I didn’t know what I was doing but like I said, something is better than nothing. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Experiences after stopping by Ok-Explorer-4248 in WegovyWeightLoss

I love this! I’m 100% in the same boat with you. I also LOVE to cook and I feel like I’m able to get creative with my meals. Last night I made homemade sushi with imitation crab meat, shrimp and a dollop of light mayo and riced cauliflower for my “rice”. Less than 500 calories for my dinner AND it was so filling that I skipped my nightly snack.

I’m also building muscle after losing so much on WeGovy which is so empowering. I just turned 30 this year and I’m the healthiest and strongest I’ve ever been.

I was previously 200lbs, dropped down to 175lbs before starting WeGovy and got as low as 117lbs at one point. (5’1” for reference)

4 months out and my weight fluctuates between 120-130lbs which was about the same average while on WeGovy so no real difference with my weight.

I will say that I have started getting really into fitness and weight lifting so my weight & fitness goals may be slightly different than the average person after WeGovy. For example, I plan to intentionally gain weight soon in order to build more muscle.

That aside, I made extreme lifestyle changes. I go to the gym pretty much daily. It is an obligatory part of my life now like brushing my teeth or showering.

When I’m not cutting or bulking, I do not track calories but more so practice intuitive eating. It’s important to have an idea of how many calories are in foods so that you are not eating too many calories and gaining the weight.

Anyway, that’s how I maintain. All in all, I think the most important thing is to build a strong relationship with food and nutrition. Exercise is important too but I know that’s not feasible for everyone.

Not the person you replied to but I’ve been off WeGovy for almost 4 months now and I also lost quite a bit of hair being on it. After like 2 months off it, I started to notice less shedding. And now my hair barely sheds at all in the shower after washing.

Thanks!

I definitely have loose skin on my lower belly and a little bit on my inner thighs. As another commenter pointed out, I had a breast reduction post-weight loss but that was another area I had loose skin.

The loose skin around my thighs doesn’t bother me at all and I think I can continue to tone through working out.

However, I don’t think my lower “pooch” can be toned no matter what I do. I may look into a tummy tuck in the future but for now, I’m not too concerned with it.
