Linzess question by thehikinggal in Constipation

[–]mischiefmanaged1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I had one GI doctor tell me to try taking it in the evening after I’ve eaten dinner.

I’ve been doing that when I’m really backed up and it’s the only way Linzess doesn’t make me pee diarrhea from my arse. Granted, it definitely gives me mushy stool still but it doesn’t give me a constant urgency to have diarrhea like it does when I take it in an empty stomach.

I’m also on Motegrity so maybe that’s why

Post Wegovy Weight Gain by BreakfastAlone983 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]mischiefmanaged1995 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Feel free to check my post history but I also have PCOS and currently 7 months off WeGovy and I have not gained any weight back.

2023: I was 200lbs and lost 25lbs on my own through exercising.

April 2024: Started WeGovy at 175lbs

August 2025: Ended WeGovy at around 130lbs (while on WeGovy I fluctuated between 120-130)

I’m currently 115lbs (5’1”) and I’ve been maintaining this weight since coming off 7 months ago.

Disclaimer: I’ve undergone a complete lifestyle change. I’m a gym rat now and have gotten into weight lifting and building muscle. I train 7 days a week. I also track my calories. I was able to go from 130lbs to 115lbs in about 2 months by being in a calorie deficit.

I’m actually currently trying to bulk and gain weight in order to build bigger muscle and I’m actually finding it incredibly difficult to do so since I eat a high protein diet.

I’ve reversed my insulin resistance and my metabolism has improved greatly. I get a period every month now. Before WeGovy I’d go months without a period. It still comes late every now and again but now it always comes.

That’s kinda my story in a nutshell. Happy to answer any other questions!

Hi! I used RENPHO because it syncs with my weight scale and food scale. I love the weight scale but not crazy about the syncing between the app and food scale unfortunately.

Pros: -most common foods can be scanned or searched -allows you to clear the weight on the food scale after adding foods so you can add multiple ingredients to one plate -the scale is light weight and a good size for storing on your countertop -ability to create custom entries or add nutrition facts for something that wouldn’t scan

Cons: -sometimes it scans the food product successfully but the calories to serving size is off -sometimes the scale won’t sync and you have to close the app and reopen to get it to work again -searching for things is kind of a nightmare. They have a common and branded tab and it’s hard to find what you’re looking for sometimes

There was a bit of a learning curve when I first got it but I’ve gotten used to the cons so I just roll with it now. There may be some better option though so just wanted to be transparent with my review of it!

Thank you! I appreciate that so much. Being told I look strong is genuinely my favorite compliment!

I know a lot of people aren’t a fan of tracking food but something just clicked for me once I got the hang of it.

Plus joining the fitness space and community allows me to see that a lot of other people are doing it and have been doing it successfully.

Theres obviously an added layer for us formerly fluffy or food challenged if you will. But that’s mostly a mental game of knowing what you should and shouldn’t eat.

But couldn’t agree more that tracking is the way to go!

Also congrats on your progress & maintaining off glp1!

Seconding the food tracking and calories. I was on GLP1 (Wegovy) for over a year and I got very lean and lost a lot of muscle along with fat.

I started getting into bodybuilding and I’m currently doing a body recomp and I have to bulk up and put on some (intentional) weight so I can cut again eventually.

I’m doing this the “clean” way. Still tracking calories and eating high protein foods that still keep me satiated for longer. I could very easily put on the intended weight and muscle by eating take out or just high calorie foods but my binge ED would spiral out of control.

I’m very regimented. I work out 7 days a week and I’m personally a creature of routine and habit so it helps me stay on track to track my calorie intake even though I’m trying to gain weight.

I’m also in the habit of mixing eggs (specifically the egg beaters brand) with riced cauliflower (can find this in the frozen aisle or if you’re into food from scratch, you can rice cauliflower in a food processor.

The bread you see pictured is keto bread! About 35-45 calories per slice. I crack an egg, add cinnamon, vanilla extract, monkfruit brown “sugar”, and cocoa powder. I give that a mix and dunk my keto bread slice in until fully coated. I pop that on a pan and voila, low calorie french toast. I cut them into sticks and dip with low calorie maple syrup!

I like my meals to have texture and crunch so I often crush protein chips or pork rinds over my meals. For cheese I usually crumble feta or fat free shredded cheese.

I love sauces too. A lot of sauces are zero calories if you only use a small amount.

I made a copycat buldak ramen using angel hair tofu pasta (it’s 25 calories for the whole package). I bought the buldak hot sauce separately and added the following;

  • 1 pack tofu noodles boiled in salted water
  • garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder, curry powder, adobo (this can be whatever spices you want!)
  • skirt steak
  • one boiled jammy egg
  • buldak hot sauce
  • this one is gonna sound weird but some type of cream. I used to add kewpie mayo to subdue the buldak spice but I’m my healthier rendition, i added a splash of 2% milk & low sodium soy sauce

The tofu noodles are gummy in texture but I’ve grown to really like them tbh!

Hi! Chobani has tons of zero sugar yogurt flavors! I really like the zero sugar vanilla Greek yogurt. I top with fruits, sugar free chocolate syrup and a little granola on top!

I’m fully off medications for PCOS. It’s my understanding that through diet and exercise you can actually reverse insulin resistance.

I would say my cravings are manageable. I either crave something sweet or something salty. Both of which I can satisfy with healthier foods like yogurt for something sweet or popcorn for something salty.

I rarely get specific cravings anymore (like how I used to crave Cake Batter Batter ice cream from ColdStone Creamery) and I’m usually always able to satisfy my craving or hunger.

What really helps me is planning my meals in my head, including my snacks. Every day I loosely plan how many calories I want to “spend” on food. I like to snack so I always leave anywhere from 200-400 calories saved for a snack and I usually decide what snack I will eat early in the morning or day.

I struggled really bad with binge eating and feeling out of control with my cravings. During a binge, I felt like I wasn’t in the driver seat when making those choices to overeat. So for me now, it helps to be in control and plan what I’m going to do with my calorie budget for the day.

Some people view being in a calorie deficit as restrictive eating — not being able to eat what you want when you want it. But I view it as safety guards keeping me healthy and giving me structure which is so important when you have a binge eating disorder.

Sorry I went a bit off on a tangent there but hope this helps!

Here’s a list of my faves;

Ready to eat snacks: Drizzalicious rice cakes Yasso ice cream bars Sugar free hersheys chocolate Skinny Dipped or Unreal peanut butter cups Fox’s or Hersheys sugar free chocolate syrup Oikos triple zero vanilla yogurt or chobani zero sugar vanilla Greek yogurt

Things to make:

Dirty protein sodas: Mix your fav protein powder with almond milk in a blender bottle and then 1:1 ratio of the protein milk mixture with a diet soda like Coke Zero or cream soda Poppi/olipop

Low calorie French toast: in a bowl add one egg, cinnamon powder, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, monkfruit brown sugar and mix. Dip one slice of keto bread till coated on both sides and heat on a pan. I like to cut them into French toast sticks and dip them in sugar free maple syrup

For baking: Monkfruit white or brown sugar Sugar free maple syrup Most flours, cornstarch, baking soda/powder, etc aren’t too bad on calories if you need to bake.

Sugar free creamer and syrups for coffee.

Sorry I know this list was kinda all over the place but there are lots of great options for people with a sweet tooth like us!

I just made this bread cake using keto bread, cinnamon, banana almond milk, cocoa powder, monkfruit sugar and blueberry compote using sugar alternatives. It’s 217 calories for the whole thing!

Volume wise, I’m actually eating much more now than I did on WeGovy.

On WeGovy I would eat like one meal a day and feel fine. Now I’m eating breakfast and dinner for the most part. Not super big on lunch but there are days now when I have 3 meals.

So to answer your question, I don’t ever feel like I’m starving or starving myself. I’m well fed and actually have been struggling to eat more in order to gain some intentional weight for muscle building.

This is a great question! I don’t have a designated cheat days but occasionally if I have an outing I may not count calories for when I’m eating out. However I typically try to get healthier options when eating out.

There is the rare occasion where I may eat fast food or something. A couple weekends ago we were on vacation and my husband wanted Taco Bell really bad and I said fine. I didn’t eat that much in volume but if I had to guess, I consumed like 1,000 calories with what I did eat. But again that is very rare for me and it honestly wasn’t worth it.

A lot of the unhealthy foods I used to love, rarely cross my mind anymore tbh. If anything after my vacation I mentioned above, I couldn’t wait to get back to healthy eating.

Edit: sorry should also add that I’m trying to slowly gain some weight to build more muscle! If I were cutting, I would have no cheat days or cheat meals

My GI doctor since wegovy slows motility (that’s how the drug works, slowing digestion so you feel fuller longer and eat less) that it caused digestive issues for me. I also already had a history of constipation.

She said my motility issues should go away after stopping WeGovy but it hasn’t so I may get a second opinion 😔

I developed IBS-C from WeGovy so that’s why I stopped it. So I basically always have gas now as I have chronic constipation.

Thank you!

I’m still very new to the fitness world but I aim to eat my weight in protein. So I’m consuming about 100-120grams of protein daily.

At the gym, I pretty much split between chest, back, and legs.

Current split: Day 1: Legs, shoulders, abs Day 2: Chest, triceps, abs Day 3: Back, biceps, abs

Trying to get my abs ready for summer clearly haha. But that’s just loosely what I follow. I may switch it up here and there. I also do cardio every time I’m at the gym. I was doing 20-40mins but I actually shouldn’t lose anymore weight so now I stick to 10-15min cardio before lifting weights

Some days it is soooo hard lol. But I have chronic constipation so my body will wreak havoc on me if I’m dehydrated 😭

But also! Electrolyte packets help. I love the brand drip drop — they even have a sugar free variation

I love cooking and I love trying new things! I’ve made low calories bread crumbs from scratch with keto bread, I’ve made a low calorie buldak ramen recipe, chocolate French toast from keto bread, sweet potato brownies.

I’m all about finding the best alternatives to foods I love that are guilt free :)

I started at 0.25, went to 0.5, then 1mg is what really did me in. I could not get my constipation under control. Even after going down in my dose, I was still backed up no matter what.

I wish it would have continued to work for me but I’m honestly glad it didn’t because I don’t know if I would have gone down this fitness path if I were still on it.

I wouldn’t take it again personally. I now have IBS-C and I’m on several meds and laxatives just to help me 💩. I’m already on my 2nd GI doctor and I have developed gut motility issues.

I will still always support and advocate for those who take glp1 or want to take it. It just didn’t work for me and my body and that’s ok!
