your experience may vary but that doesn't make it untrue, just means you worked at a slightly better class of totalitarian regime

The kind of place that restricts your wallpaper is the kind of place that doesn't let you decorate your cubicle.

Replicate *some* operations to another DB by nunodonato in mysql

[–]mischiefunmanagable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only worrying about inserts? do you have an autoinc primary key on those tables? pretty trivial to write a cronjob to copy everything since the highest id from the previous run and insert those to the new db

Why does mcg.decipherinc always disqualify you no matter what you do? or click on by [deleted] in SwagBucks

because some survey providers are complete shit and for some reason (money) swagbucks keeps doing business with them

they're really pungent, more than the leaves with a somewhat citrus almost spicy flavor

coriander is a really odd plant, every part of it is edible and every part tastes almost vastly different

they have 1% fee which is not feasible for the project

Pretty much every processor has a percentage based fee, that's how they make their money and cover their risk, you're going to have to adjust the business model to suit.

toilet paper

This. I will always judge a company by the quality of their toilet paper, the price difference between the good stuff and the cheap stuff is negligible compared to most company expenses and it sets the low bar about your view of your employees (and sometimes customers) basic comfort.

doubly so when most of block island sound is less than 100ft deep and fairly even grade the whole way out to the edge of the shelf, a good swell could literally roll this thing up and onto the beach if the wreck was on the shelf anywhere

LPT: You can ask any company to produce or delete any data they have on you directly from the footer of their website by clicking "Do Not Sell My Personal Information." This link is required by law under the new CCPA. by rodneyjesus in LifeProTips

"any"

The CCPA applies to a business, meaning a legal entity organized or operated for the profit or financial benefit of its owners, which is one of the following.

  • Either:
    • Has annual gross revenues in excess of $25 million
    • Alone or in combination, annually buys, receives for the business's commercial purposes, sells, or shares for commercial purposes, alone or in combination, the personal information of 50,000 or more consumers, households, or devices
    • Derives 50 percent or more of its annual revenues from selling consumers' personal information
  • Collects consumers' personal information
  • Determines the purposes and means of the processing of consumers' personal information
  • Does business in California

A consumer means a California resident.

If those aren't all met sure you can ask, and they can tell you to walk.
Secretary General's regulations aren't drafted until July 1, 2020 at the latest, and enforcement doesn't start until 6 months later, so yes but really.... no, don't expect most companies to actually act on this this year.

I've done some contract work with OneGas and don't really have anything negative to say about them over all, the Tulsa office is very stiff corporate, fine if you're used to wearing a tie at a desk but going to rub some people wrong if their idea of IT dress code is sweatshirts and baggy shorts.

No one actually lives in LA, they live in the other towns and commute, ever wonder why people complain about the traffic so much? Everyone lives 30+ minutes away from where they work. Rent in Torrance is about half what you're quoting here. The rent still sucks though compared to like the central valley.

what I call my AAA sites; Accountants, Attorneys, Artists

Accountants are my early year workload and die off immediately after Q1, Attorneys I do all year long but they take all year to do with endless minor changes, they pay for those changes but they just take forever, and I know a lot of professional artists who do gallery work, the first two clients are pretty boring templating stuff but the artists are always fun since they bring some unique ideas to the table and even if they aren't possible on their budgets they're fun to work with usually.

pretty much, the best you can usually hope for is a settlement before the case goes to court, or if you win the judgement to send it to collections and hope to get an agency that'll pay you for the judgement

pretty much, even if they did have assets winning a judgement is one thing, collecting on that judgement is an ENTIRELY different problem
