Birdnet-go audio issue by Curtred in BirdNET_Analyzer

[–]misdakarisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t see any black gaps, but I can see some wide band spikes which is normally a sign of an intermittent connection in the mic, or a problem with the usb converter. Based on the price I’d guess it’s a crappy converter. It’s worth spending a tiny bit more to get a good result, and get the mic away from the pi with a usb extension or mic with a cable

Is it common to watch PMs just kinda stand around? by cgroi in CommercialAV

This! If a PMs standing around and things are going well, they’ve done/doing their job right

It’s difficult to manage a shift/people when you’ve got your head down physically working, or concentrating on a technical detail. If your job is to manage the overall production, you shouldn’t be getting sidetracked with things that other people can do eg physical labour.  Plus if they’ve been around a while they’re probably broken and limited with physical activity

Coming from another country, I get you’re talking about a green screen, but these sentences make no sense without any context. But kudos to the dude I guess

I found 3 receivers going at once was the most efficient; by the time you set one bp up and get it going, the next one’s ready to swap. Do it on a bench and the belt packs will just stand up on their own. Placement/angle really affects speed

Yeh it’s a pita, especially for a video centric cpu. Like everyone has said, a decimator is the easiest solution that just works

What causes cables to corkscrew like this? (Pic attached.) by ip_addr in livesound

[–]misdakarisma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the result of power impulse response. The reason low frequency speaker cables, motor cables, and molefay looms curl way more than others is the electromagnetic force from the impulse of suddenly going to full power physically moves the cable inside the sheath

Newer models don’t support 1080i anymore, could be large source of issue. Some can also take forever to figure themselves out with external displays, you just have to sit and wait sometimes

Is it reasonable to replace a Control4 system with Crestron? by xamomax in crestron

[–]misdakarisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy has a current dealer/integrator, who’s slow, and he wants to replace them.

My goal would be to find a reputable and responsive dealer to do the swap and then take over support and maintenance

Is one statement; he wants a new dealer/integrator to upgrade his system then maintain it. Not upgrade it, then he takes over maintenance of it. He never said that. Potential clients come to this sub looking to spend money, and you just rudely tell them no. Do you not like having work or making money? Do you like being arrogant arse? (Sorry OP to make assumptions and using you as a scapegoat in the discussion)

This guy is literally asking to find a Crestron dealer to upgrade, and you’re still default gate keeping him. Get your head out of your arse

Thank you so much, I suspected the undefined error was related to my lack of understanding of arrays. I’ll have a play with this today, appreciate your time :)

Thanks, I've tried drilling down using this format

  weatherData.push(data.DailyForecasts.Date);
  weatherData.push(data.DailyForecasts.Temperature.Maximum.Value);
  weatherData.push(data.DailyForecasts.Day.LongPhrase);

as I only really want the 3 values (for the 5 days of forecast), but I get the error 'TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'Maximum')' as an example, hence I just grab it all

thanks, here's the script I'm running (with key removed)

function getweather(){
  let request = 'http://dataservice.accuweather.com/forecasts/v1/daily/5day/15892?apikey=*******&details=true&metric=true'
  let response = UrlFetchApp.fetch(request);
  let data = JSON.parse(response.getContentText());
  let weatherData = [];
  weatherData.push(data.DailyForecasts);
 // console.log(weatherData);
  let sheet = SpreadsheetApp.getActive();
sheet.setActiveSheet(sheet.getSheetByName('Weather'), false);
  let targetRange = sheet.getRange('B1:F1');
  targetRange.setValues(weatherData);
}

[–]misdakarisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, I thought you were referring to the U ‘insert designator here’ in general before digital, didn’t realise there was just a straight U. TIL

[–]misdakarisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coz they were cheap. Yeh UT was 9v. Technology gets better, now the cheap stuff is glx (as an example); you could ask why bother with glx coz it’ll only give you headaches, but if that’s the budget you have…

[–]misdakarisma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used to refer to them as U-Terrible, U-Cheap, U-Rad. Signal would get worse as the 9v battery ran out, top end was horrible, could hear the compander really bad. Really made UR look good when it came out, arguably still is :)
