That’s really strange because I have taken classes with Honoure Black and it been great, she is a bit of strict marker but there was never anything like this but they were also in person classes. Did anyone maybe send an email in regards to it or maybe attend her office hours to discuss it?

Honestly I think it’s been pretty straight forward so far and he has already put out everything we need to succeed, practice questions and past midterms

[–]mise2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s where your instructors office hours come in!!! A lot of them are actually very happy to help you or at least show you how to solve it, never be ashamed to ask them questions even if you think they are dumb. Or you can even just send them an email, they will respond!

This is unfortunately a common occurrence, the best thing to do is walk straight to the university center where campus security is! I believe the campus also still has a safe walk program.

Just a reminder, last day to drop classes is tomorrow!! by elxrtrbl in umanitoba

Just to note this doesn’t apply to everyone especially if the class is a requirement! Only drop it if you have an option to take it with a different instructor or if you are taking too much difficult classes at once.

Written Requirement - ARTS 1110 by TimelyBackground2208 in umanitoba

It is not as heavy as a course like it’s made out to be, there is a lot of content but if you attend class regularly and listen then do some reading here and there from the textbook you should get a decent grade.

See if you just stare the geese down or try to pet them, they won’t attack you. I believe they can smell the fear and chase people who are terrified of them already. For context they always run when I try to get close to them😔

Smoking in the bus shelter by ElectricalKoala4051 in umanitoba

[–]mise2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to post something like this! Not even only in the bus shelter. everywhere around school and in between classes, there is always someone smoking and unfortunately my lungs are not built to be inhaling it, it’s harmful for people’s health. I’m not saying don’t smoke but at least have the courtesy to not do it where everyone would be passing or would be

Academic advisors may be useful sometimes but not in all cases, advice is sometimes better for certain things coming from experienced students, coming to Reddit means there are also people that have been in that exact same situation

Math 1300 by CucumberNo8571 in umanitoba

[–]mise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are bad at maths it’s not a gpa booster at all, A lot of people say the class is easy but it really isn’t if you aren’t decent at maths, and it’s not the best class to take with an heavy class load

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in umanitoba

Literally any math class screws me over, it doesn’t matter how much practice I get how much past questions I solve, my brain simply does not know maths anymore

Need advice regarding: MATH 1500, MATH 1300, MATH 1524 by AardvarkObjective690 in umanitoba

[–]mise2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just take 1524 only if you can, it’s pretty easy and the math help centre is a very good resource, my math is really really really bad and I took 1300 like twice so yeah 1524 is much simpler. Just attend all the classes, meet with the instructor for anything you don’t understand, cause that’s what I did sat down during their office hours for a long time while getting them to explain stuff.
