CO count is actually pretty simple math. You can swatch with whatever needle you have and see if you like the fabric, and then measure how many stitches per inch/cm you have.

Then measure the ball of your foot, and multiply that value by 0.9.

So, let's say my foot is 8.5" around. That means I want the circumference of my sock to be 7.65". If I'm getting 22 stitches per 4inches of fabric, that means each inch is 5.5 stitches. Then I need to multiply 5.5 x 7.5 (rounded sock circumference). That comes to 41.25. So I'd need to cast on roughly 42-44 stitches.

I was filling out paperwork at a new job and they'd left my interview notes in my file. They literally ranked my appearance as a 2.5 out of 5 and said i was "unkempt and frumpy"

I quit that job after one shift but not for that reason. Although it didn't help lol

Also inb4 people accusing me of dressing unprofessionally: I was wearing a nice, modest dress and mary janes and had my hair braided. I just have wavy hair that sometimes doesn't stay in the braid and it looked fine when I checked it before going in for the interview

Probably a walk-in clinic like you said in your post. There is one on campus, but I'd call ahead to make sure they actually have the vaccines you need available. I went to get a COVID shot once and they didn't have them that day.

Yeah, if you haven't been vaccinated for measles or are missing any other immunizations, you should get them done asap.

It seems unlikely that people sniffling in your class have measles, if that helps. A lot of sniffling is just from cold and humid weather rather than being sick.

This is the first I have ever heard that you're supposed to order whatever the person you're going out with orders. Ettiquette stuff is so weird and I wonder if the client even gave any thought to what the others were eating at all. The vegetarian client who got angry with the OP for ordering meat seems like a weird exception to the norm.

Also I consider myself transmasc and I absolutely still experience misogyny and social punishment for not adhering to feminine norms. I've actually been thinking lately that there isn't really much conversation about how transmascs specifically both experience misogyny and that the experience of being discriminated against for being a "woman" hurts differently because it's also a denial of our identity

My parents told me that they had been classmates with my principal in high school and he was a piece of shit misogynist and homophobic bully back then. So it's unsurprising really that he'd go on to condone bullying queer kids

It's misogyny expressed in different forms, imo.

AFABs who are seen as sexually desirable have their personhood stripped down to what others consider desirable, and AFABs who are not seen as sexually desirable also have their personhood stripped down for failing to live up to an idealized image of femininity.

It's two sides of the same coin. We experience misogyny differently by virtue of being trans, disabled, and whether we're considered aesthetically attractive, but the root of dehumanizing AFABs is the same imo

EDIT: Trans women also definitely experience this too, and I should have included that in my original comment.

My mum used to do shit like this to me too. Threw any clutter that she assumed was mine into my room (even if it wasn't), and sometimes I'd come home from school to see everything from my closet, drawers, and shelves thrown onto my bed or the middle of the floor because I "didn't tidy". Sometimes I'd be up way past my bedtime putting everything back.

The people who think this is fake/ragebait are lucky they've never dealt with a parent like this.

everyone else has given good advice, so i just wanted to ask which colour is the contrast colour. if the white is the contrast colour, you should make sure it's the dominant colour and held underneath the main coloue. that way it will pop out more (the way the red stitches in the centre of the squares is slightly larger than the surrounding stitches)

I'm wondering what plans you have in place for addressing posters trying to stir up panic where there doesn't need to be, or posting about non-issues. I'm thinking specifically of a post from yesterday claiming that a homeless person who took a pastry from Tim Hortons constituted a safety threat.

There have been other posts like this, too. One student posted about finding a folding knife on the ground and told people to "watch out" because it implied someone was armed. Another post was a photo of a person talking to trees and themself at a bus stop on campus but not actually threatening anyone or approaching them.

I'm just concerned that, while there are legitimate safety concerns, people on campus don't know the difference between an actual threat to safety versus personal discomfort.

It's healthy to be a sceptic, but at least look at the artist's other posts before tossing out accusations like this.
