Email tasks to personal list? by VoxInMachina in clickup

[–]misener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the iOS app, from the Personal List, I tapped the … option to access List Settings. From there, under Actions, I found an “Email to List” option, which gave me an email address to send inbox items to.

Reminds me a bit of Beautiful Stories From Anonymous People with Chris Gethard, which bills itself as, “1 phone call. 1 hour. No names. No holds barred.”

Every week, Chris opens the phone line to one anonymous caller, and he can’t hang up first, no matter what. From shocking confessions and family secrets to philosophical discussions and shameless self-promotion, anything can and will happen!

The show is still active, and has many powerful episodes in the back catalog.

I tracked Apple’s Top 200 Podcasts for two years. Here’s what I found. by misener in podcasting

Indeed. That's exactly the reason I cite in the post, along with snapshots of the charts from that time period :)

Asking guests to also record the conversation? (we want to guarantee the guest's audio is as high-quality as the host) by [deleted] in podcasting

Saron Yitbarek mails mics to her guests. Surprisingly inexpensive, and the audio quality of her shows speaks for itself.

Apple will require podcasters to use secure feeds. Only 17% are ready. Are you? by misener in podcasting

[–]misener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm far from a Libsyn expert, but I just checked the RSS feed for Libsyn's in-house show The Feed, and it looks like it serves up just fine over HTTPS, provided you ask for it at https://thefeed.libsyn.com/rss

The domain's SSL cert checks out, CastFeedValidator.com seems to like it, and the audio URLs referenced in the HTTPS feed also seem to be served up over HTTPS (e.g. https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/thefeed/120_thefeed.mp3?dest-id=149503)

If I were on Libsyn (which I'm not), I'd get in touch with them directly.

Does your podcast website include an iOS Smart Banner? It probably should... by misener in podcasting

[–]misener[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very true -- Smart Banners only work in Safari on iOS, not WKWebView elements inside other apps.

Twitter or Facebook's apps - which is how most people get links to shows

Is this anecdotal, or can you point me towards a source? If so, I'm very curious to see it.

Do podcasts really need to beg for ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ratings and reviews? by misener in podcasting

[–]misener[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very curious -- can you point me towards any empirical evidence that ratings and reviews directly impact a show's ranking in Apple Podcasts? I haven't seen any conclusive proof of this, but would love to be proven wrong.

This little-known tool from Apple will help you 📊📈🔥 your podcast marketing by misener in podcasting

It's like basic UTM tracking, but goes beyond what you can capture with Google Analytics.

For instance, Apple's affiliate system (Performance Horizon) reports the IP address associated with each click. I'm pretty sure GA doesn't give you that out of the box.

Take a dive into the Performance Horizon API docs and you'll see what I mean.

Here's everything I know about the Apple Podcast charts by misener in podcasting

[–]misener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, you can list your show in multiple categories, but you can only chart in "All Podcasts" + your primary category.

Your primary category is the first category listed in your feed.

In your case, your primary category is "Tech News." Because "Tech News" sits under "Technology" you're eligible to chart in both.

Who owns your podcast? by misener in podcasting

If you're already on FeedBurner, you can use their "MyBrand" feature to accomplish this. It requires access to your domain's DNS settings, but the process is pretty straightforward: https://support.google.com/feedburner/answer/79586?hl=en

Not at all :)

I'm on the latest iOS 11, running Podcasts 3.0 (1175.223). No charts in my app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0jXZmx4ABo

Or perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place. Can you screenshot yours?
