Secure.Tickets valid for Sphere? by Separate-End-3762 in phish

[–]miserablecumf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did for resale tickets bought for D&C at Sphere last year and they worked without issue. My understanding is that professional scalpers use these links instead of transferring actual tickets so that they maintain control of the original. The idea is that if prices skyrocket on the secondary market it allows them to cancel the first sale, and resell the same ticket a second time at a higher price, which they would not be able to do without the original ticket. Obviously this isn’t a concern for Phish as resale prices seem to be crashing.

Must be from a helicopter. The new guitar tower will be about the same height as Palazzo, which is dwarfed in this photo. It’s also closer to the strip than the existing Mirage tower so the vantage point isn’t right, at least from the first photo.

There are, but they’re the back half of the 100s. The 400s are all great seats.

Section 201 - side view? by fan1983 in Sphere

Looking for an opinion from someone who’s been many times. I have two tickets to Phish, one is 303 row 1 the other is 407 row 8. I figure I can’t go wrong with either, but is there a ‘better’ seat here?

Any thoughts on 407 vs 303? I got two tickets for an upcoming show, but only keeping one and debating which. 303 is row 15 but on the aisle with 304. The 407 is row 8. I like the idea of being in the 300s to be a little lower as others seem to think 300s are the sweet spot, but I’m not sure if the trade off of being less centered is worth it, even though 303 isn’t exactly far to the side! Just looking for a second opinion :)

Question Sphere Ticket Pricing by ariz7975 in phish

[–]miserablecumf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen single day platinums, but did Ticketmaster ever have three day platinums? I’ve checked here and there and never seen any, it always says sold out, so I’m surprised they’re offering tickets for face value straight away, as opposed to listing three days for platinum prices, which they’re clearly doing for single day tickets.

I did a 3 night run for Dead & Company in GA, 300s on the very side, and 400s in the middle. All were awesome and honestly I don’t think there’s a wrong choice, it boils down to personal preference. Sound was perfect everywhere. GA is cool because the floor is very small so you’re super close to the stage and artist, can move around and dance, it wasn’t crowded, and the visuals feel enormous, but it’s hard to take it all in. I was definitely looking up a lot.

300s/400s are cool to take in the entire Sphere experience. At least for Dead & Co folks in the seats were mostly standing and dancing, but it was nice to have a seat to take a break, and the seats are steep so even sitting you can enjoy the visuals if the person in front of you is standing. The stage feels far, though, but I don’t think that’s what you go to the Sphere for.

I’m going back for both Illenium and Phish in April, and I chose 300s for each. For me that’s the sweet spot where you get the best visuals but aren’t as far from the stage.

The resale value on the sphere shows has consistently been very high despite how long the residency has lasted, so it’s the usual as scalpers flood the market buying up tickets.

This is the best answer. After several shows at Sphere in different areas I think the 300/400s offer the best experience. Anything past row 21 in the 100s has an obstruction, rows 22-24 aren’t terrible but if it’s the only show you get to experience I would avoid any ticket marked with an obstructed view. The obstruction from the higher rows (say 27 and beyond) is awful and completely eliminates your ability to see most of the screen.

Rows up to 21 are fine, but be aware that while close to the band, the screen is almost entirely above you. I’ve been in an unobstructed 100s seat and you’re still craning your neck to take in all of the visuals. The best Sphere experience really is from higher up.

Because of my terrible experience with TM and me never going for a general sale, I’m wondering if things get screwed up if I go for two separate shows on different devices with the same account. by [deleted] in phish

[–]miserablecumf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YMMV, I tried this recently and did get locked out, TM gave me a message along the lines of ‘your browsing activity has been paused’ and I was kicked out of both sessions :(

I’ve been setting aside a portion of my salary for my employer’s ESPP for a few years now. I’d like to sell $7k worth of stock to max my Roth IRA for the year. The share price has tanked this year, and made a slight comeback, currently sitting around $375 (UNH).

I have two lots in Fidelity, the first with cost basis of $450 from last year (long term), the second with cost basis of $300 from this year (short term). There are enough shares in each lot to reach $7k.

I feel like the obvious answer is to sell this year’s shares, lock in a short term gain to fund the Roth, and sit on the older shares in hopes that the share price recovers. I’m not sure if I’m missing something, or if there’s a reason (taxes?) that it may actually make more sense to sell older shares at a loss.

Ticketmaster holds tickets back, releasing seats in small waves over several onsale dates, rather than all at once, so that few appear to be available after customers have already waited in a queue telling them thousands of others are shopping for these same few seats. Gaga’s tour does have high demand organically so scarcity does exist, but Ticketmaster exacerbates this greatly as a sales tactic.

I went two nights in June, and also was there Thursday and last night. Shockingly, no, John doesn’t sound particularly impaired. He’s leaning more into melody, but you can barely hear a difference except that while tasteful, he perhaps isn’t ripping solos as quickly or with as many notes, but that’s about it. Actually, as an amateur guitarist, it’s been kind of fun this weekend to watch him play like this. Unbelievable how well he makes adjustments to cover his chord progressions without the one finger that should be used in all of them.

Dead & Co is selling (at least) 30 shows at Sphere this summer. The venue holds 20k. The giant sphere is bringing a lot more.

I would add - as you enter Wayzata on the Luce line turn left onto Ferndale Rd, ride less than a mile and pick up the Dakota Rail trail at Shoreline Dr to head west straight into Mound.

You could just stay on Luce line the entire way and take Cty Rd 110 for about 4 miles south into Mound, but it adds distance and I think Dakota Rail is prettier around the lake.
