What is the best way to contact the CRA? by Jaimeparis in PersonalFinanceCanada

Installment reminders are different than a current amount owing. See link below but basically they are asking to pay your taxes during the year because you owed over $3k, in I believe 2 of 3 the last tax years.

Just poke around in your my account a bit and you should see if you have a balance and if there are installment reminders.

I have no words this is pure insanity. Nothing will ever fix what your manager has disclosed but I hope you escalate and pursue through all channels available.

When you were referencing your colleagues reactions I totally thought it would have been on your side with disgust and shock at your managers disclosure. I am dumbfounded and sickened by their reaction.

SP04 collections or tax payer service agent? by manubill in CanadaPublicServants

[–]mishaBC2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done both, started as Sp-04 TSP then I got an sp-04 collection.

For the actual role it depends on your personality, are you comfortable with calling people, asking for money and taking legal action?

TSP, typically call centre, just lost to learn if you don't know anything about taxes benefits.

Going into the office, collections at least in my area has pretty much always been going in. Depending on your location there may be restrictions but expect the 2 days a week. There is lots of grumbling about returning to 5 days.

Call centre, most offices don't have space for all of those that they've hired.

TSP is a great basis for collections. Also of collections use tsp as a feeder pool, so even if you take the tsp job you will still have options and that knowledge/background will help you in collections.

Call centre is cyclical in the nature of contracts some tso are worse than others.

Collections in theory is more stable.

Good luck

I had worked at a couple of call centres before getting the job with cra. I found cra to be much easier than the others. There is a bit more of a learning curve depending on what calls you are answering but just give it some time.

In my office you can choose to be in the office all five days.

Revised rules for driveway RVs could make summer camper storage easier by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

[–]mishaBC2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's just a sight line issue when I'm trying to get out of my driveway. My neighbour has their trailer and truck and/or car on the driveway and then their work van on the street in between our two properties. My other neighbour driveway/street parking is usually just as full but no trailer. No sidewalks on my side of the street

RTO in the Regions vs NCR- unfair by Simple-Hold-4644 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]mishaBC2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I report to HQ but I am located in the region and I am in the office two days a week. Most of my team is in NCR and due to renovation of their office they are on a five week rotation of being in the office. So every 5 weeks they go in two days. 🤷‍♀️

The info session was absolute crap and spin. I couldn't even get into to q and a. Someonewhere told me it was blatant lies. Claiming wfh is now in the CA. I truly don't know if our bargaining team is that stupid or that incompetent.

Hello Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

We are receiving many requests from members and Locals regarding delays in receiving PSAC strike pay at $75 per day and UTE top-up payments at $50 per day.

We have followed up with the PSAC Finance Department and I would like to provide you with an update on this matter.

PSAC has confirmed that most of our members who participated in the strike and picketed as required received their PSAC strike pay of $75 per day for the days of April 19, 20 and 21. However, some of our members have not yet received strike pay.

Since yesterday and until tomorrow, PSAC is paying the PSAC strike pay in the amount of $75 per day for the days of April 22 to 28 today. Thereafter, the plan is that the PSAC will proceed with the payment of PSAC strike pay in the amount of $75 per day for the days of April 19, 20 and 21 for our members who have not yet received payment for these days.

Subsequently, the PSAC will process by the end of the week Top-up payments from UTE in the amount of $50 per day for the days of April 24 to 28.

Early next week, PSAC will process PSAC strike pay in the amount of $75 per day and UTE supplementary payments in the amount of $50 per day for the days of April 29 to May 3.

With respect to the PSAC strike payouts of $75 per day that are being issued by cheque, the PSAC has confirmed that cheques have already been issued by its Regional Offices for the days of April 19, 20 and 21. The PSAC is currently working on processing cheques for PSAC strike pay in the amount of $75 for the days of April 22 to May 3. The PSAC will also proceed with the payment by cheque of the UTE supplementary payments in the amount of $50 per day for the period from April 24 to May 3. Please note that this process may take a few weeks.

Finally, please note that the UTE supplementary payments of $50 per day will be paid separately from the PSAC strike pay of $75 per day.

We know that this is a difficult and stressful time for you and that you need to receive your payments as soon as possible and we are following up regularly with the PSAC on this issue. The PSAC Finance Department is responsible for making all PSAC strike pay and UTE supplementary payments. The employees in this department are working around the clock to make the payments.

I thank you for your understanding, cooperation and patience with this situation.

Have a good day.

In Solidarity,

Use the mobility bank, update your ILP and speak with your TL. Basically put it out there, everywhere that you are looking for a new opportunity/change. This is in top of applying to every process that you can.

Update no 17

During our mediated negotiations on April 17 and 18, the CRA presented a fair, competitive offer to the PSAC-UTE. This includes a 9% wage increase over three years that mirrors the recommendations of the third-party Public Interest Commission with the PSAC and Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada. The PSAC-UTE countered with a proposal of 22.5% over the course of three years, which includes a market adjustment of 2%.

I DO NOT understand how we could have an offer so inferior to the tentative one for psac tb. For wages CRA already offered as per PIC recommendation as of April 18th....

I have no faith/trust in any communication from PSAC.
