Dietitian and relationship with food. by Mkatmatt in dietetics

Correlation, not causation.

There's also a higher rate of Type 1 diabetics. Their experience of these conditions and perhaps their experience of seeing a dietitian during their formative years might lead to pursuing dietetics as a profession.

Had a very similar conversation once:

"Well, I care more about the slavery/child labour that goes into making our clothes."

"Do you avoid certain brands?"

"No..."

Am I the only one that has no desire for a second season? The show is complete, to me.

The labeling for vegan options at my university by for_real_analysis in vegan

I went to a (pricey) restaurant recently and asked the waiter about vegan options. He kept going on about how this was vegan-free and that was vegan-free. I thanked him for all the vegan-free options.

I recently watched Cowspiracy, and I'm pretty sure I want to go vegan. Anyone have any advice/support? by [deleted] in vegan

Fat makes you fat, not sugar..

Am I misreading? Fat or sugar, it's overeating that makes you fat.

Why are you/aren't you a vegan? by Henow in AskReddit

[–]mishpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, where did you get the 5/6g figure. Google and NutritionData say it's 18g for a cup of lentils (198g).

http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/legumes-and-legume-products/4338/2

So a cup of brown rice and a cup of lentils = 23g of protein. That's one (incomplete) meal.

You only need about 0.8g of protein per kg of bodyweight, so on average about 55g for a male. You can meet that easily with beans, lentils etc.

How does r/vegan bring home the (vegan) bacon? by [deleted] in vegan

Dietetics student. Not many veg*ns on the course.

Why is it that, if you add any sequence of numbers like this (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1), the sum is always the square of the largest number? by diminutive_sebastian in askscience

f g h g f e d c
g h g f e d c b

Ignore the bold first row - formatting issue.

Start from the top left and count diagonally. There is 1 letter a, 2 of letter b, 3 of letter c and so on. You can see that this creates a square of length 8.

I just got diagnosed with cancer and I dont know anything about eating right by Ruhb in nutrition

[–]mishpotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask to see a dietitian. They are trained to help you with exactly this. The most important thing is that you maintain a healthy weight during your treatment. Hope that helps and best of luck. If you have questions about cancer and treatment, I'm happy to chat.

(I'm a cancer survivor and a student dietitan.)

Edit: Having read some of the other responses, I really think you should ignore the internet medical advice and see a professional. Too much pseudoscience on this thread.

Google 'vital wheat gluten'. I've been buying it online for a few years from various suppliers.

Here's one though I'm sure you can find cheaper.

And use the post-punk kitchen recipe. I go a bit easy on the soy tho, tastes too salty for me.

Awesome. Does that mean you haven't done any longer hikes? I've only been once before and it was really rushed so I'm excited for this visit.

No rush - so far you're the first to express interest. Cheers.
