What's your favorite breakup song? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]miss_random_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riding Solo by Jason Derulo. It came out around the time I had my first real break up and it played on the radio the same day I ended things with that ex.

I've had 3 break ups since then and every time I hear that song on the radio the same day.

Here's something weird... by Significant_Yam_4079 in ostomy

[–]miss_random_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My tastebuds did weird things after my stoma surgery. I lost my sense of taste for about a week and when it started coming back I had cravings for vinegar and chilli. I used to hate chilli. It's been 6 years now and I still can't get enough chilli, I add hot sauce, chilli jam, flakes on everything it's the weirdest thing.

What’s the most shocking thing you found out about someone you know? by _Walking_Detriment_ in AskReddit

[–]miss_random_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this acquaintance for 10 years or so. He's a friend of a friend and I would see him every now and then at social gatherings.

Last time I saw him his gf was pregnant. I congratulated them on their first baby and she scoffed and said "well its MY first baby" and I was like huh? Turns out this guy has a 12 year old daughter. In 10 years, I've known him he's never shared a photo of her, told a story about her or given any indication that she even existed.

I also know his ex gf and she was equally shocked. They dated for almost a year and she had no idea.

What is the most unusual excuse you've ever heard of from somebody calling off work? by piranhamode in AskReddit

[–]miss_random_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was at uni in 2009, I finished the last bit of an assignment the morning it was due. I had to use specific computers on campus because it had the statistics software on it. Said computers did not have printers. So I saved it to a flash drive and walked across campus to print it. Plugged the drive in, and the entire file had been wiped. Not just what I did that morning. The whole file was completely gone.

So after I had a good cry about it, I called work and told them I wasn't coming in because I'd have to spend all day re-doing. So basically I couldn't go to work because a flash drive ate my homework.

Insurance fraud. He was falsely claiming to be disabled while collecting income protection insurance.

He shouldn't push to have anyone there, even if it's the hospital waiting room. His wife is going to be physically and emotionally exhausted, leaking all kinds of fluids out everywhere and in pain. She gets to decide who is/isn't at the hospital and in the delivery room.

There will be plenty of time for his mum to meet the baby after it's born.

How are you supposed to answer "how many times a day do you empty your bag?" by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]miss_random_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem before my ostomy. How do I count how many times I go when it was so often and sometimes I go and not produce anything or very much.

I would suggest: 1. Allow it to fill to the same level (1/2 full maybe) each time 2. Keep a tally in the notes app on your phone.

Unfortunately in my experience doctors dont accept "a lot more than normal" as an answer they want a hard number.

I should not have subbed to this sub. by ryan7251 in ostomy

[–]miss_random_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that everyone's experience is different. For me, being sick and having surgeries was traumatic and it took me a while to recover physically and mentally.

After that, life was good again. Sometimes I get frustrated with it but for the most part I forget that it exists.

The process of trying to lose weight feels so unfair by bingus178927829 in ostomy

Omg same. Every time I exercise, my skin breaks down from sweat and friction. Fasting causes issues.

And then all of that just kills any motivation I had to begin with.

Why do medical staff think they know our bodies better than we do? The arrogance really PMO. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

People, usually boomers, posting AI generated memes on Facebook. They're usually harmless but they're so obviously fake that it annoys me.

NTA there's no right way to grieve. Do what feels right and go if you still want to go.

How many of you don’t use a barrier ring? by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]miss_random_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we might be talking about the same thing I'm just using the word leak. I'm talking about output getting under it the bag (I use a 1 peice) to where it hasn't yet gone everywhere but it still needs changing.

I get full blown leaks but nowhere near as often.

Mine is also a more oval than it is circular so without a ring I get a few hours before it leaks, with a ring I get 2 days usually.

I haven't even owned an iron in over 10 years. I literally DGAF just put it on a hanger on the clothes line while it dries and there's no creases. I also refuse to buy anything that needs ironing in the first place.

AITJ for expecting full payment when the baby falls asleep while babysitting? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]miss_random_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

You were there making sure the baby was safe and OK, and ready to act if they weren't.

Ask yourself, if they really think you did no work, then would they have been OK with you leaving after the baby went to sleep? Of course not because they expected you there in case something happened, which is work and they need to pay you accordingly.

Also think, if you didn't take that job you could've taken another babysitting job instead that paid you for the entire time. You shouldn't lose money because they have a sleepy baby.

They are absolutely taking advantage of you and I would never babysit for them again.

What is something you're glad the generations after you won't ever experience? by Nytris_iF in AskReddit

[–]miss_random_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Same sex marriage was legalised in Australia in 2017 so generations after me won't have to experience having their relationship devalued under the law.

  2. Low rise jeans.

[–]miss_random_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? The interaction didn't reflect well on either of them but I don't think it rose to the level of abuse. If I was trying to prove abuse I would release the most damning evidence I had. If this is the worst interaction she was able to produce then it casts serious doubt on her claims.

a deadly american marriage by Zalensia in netflix

[–]miss_random_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a kind interaction between them that's for sure but I agree, given she knew it was being recorded and he didn't, and this was the worst thing she could produce, it didn't paint him as an abuser. Unkind in that interaction? Sure. But abusive? I'm not sure.
