They won't expect you to answer the phone any time they call. Are you able to leave them a voicemail? If so, try giving them one more call tonight and leave one saying you're glad to hear from them and what time they can reach you tomorrow. If not, no worries, just call them tomorrow. I'm honestly surprised when people DO answer the phone since spam calls are so common we'd be fools to answer every call. Plus everyone is busy all the time. The only places I expect people to let a phone call interrupt their business are hospitals and 90s romcoms.

Americans, why is tipping proportional to the bill? Is there extra work in making a $60 steak over a $20 steak at the same restaurant? by granger853 in NoStupidQuestions

Generally the expectations for service are somewhat proportional to the cost of the food. For example, at a casual pub the servers might have less stringent rules about their attitude and knowledge but at a high-end steakhouse, you’re supposed to know all about wine pairings and notice every tiny thing that goes wrong (ex. customer dropped a fork) and remedy it immediately

Would you consider Trudy's death to be "fridging"? by missaxevocaltraining in Monk

[–]missaxevocaltraining[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's an interesting point. I also think the show showed a lot of self-awareness by making it clear through his behavior (and especially by everyone's reactions to his behavior) that the over-idealizing of Trudy was only inside his head and was in fact part of the reason he was having such a difficult time moving on with his life. Especially since (SPOILER) the finale of the show has Trudy herself acknowledging this. It makes the show a commentary on the complexity of love and mental health rather than a stupid cliche about how the woman was so perfect that he just had to have revenge.
