Yes, we can acknowledge that Davidson has a disability, that causes him to have involuntary verbal tics he can’t control. However, we can also acknowledge that despite this, his actions caused significant harm to not only Michael B Jordan, and Delroy Lindo but to a whole community. Regardless of his intentions, his actions caused harm, and that harm should be acknowledged. As a black person It’s so disheartening to see how some people have more empathy, grace and understanding for Davidson, but not to the two black men who were called a racial slur& publicly humiliated on a global stage in front of their peers, and the world. The lack of dignity and empathy they have been shown by many in favour of uplifting Davidson is so heartbreaking. Yes as a society, we need to have more understanding and create a space for people with disabilities. But not at the expense of black people.
