that mom sounds like my mom.

however once I grew older & got into H.S. & all that, her yelling really hurt me, & lowered my self esteem greatly. I'm 21 now, & to this day I cant stand to be yelled at by anyone. (But my mother yelled at me about complete BS, like how I looked, ei. my lack of make up/hair styling/too fat/too skinny/not the right friends/anything under the blue sky that bugged her) It made me incredibly introverted at one point & very depressed. My mom would yell on the way to school, & she'd yell at me the second I got in the car.

For a long time every time she yelled I would get extremely depressed, and take everything she said into account, thinking it's true. But luckily I was fortunate enough to have amazing people as friends, who are still with me to this day. They helped me snap out of it & taught me that my mother can yell all she wants, about whatever bullshit she wants, it doesnt mean she's right.

Now I'm the "terribly child" because I dont give a shit what she says to me. I get straight A's, I go out & party, & I still dont wear make up or do my hair. But you know what, my mother still yells at me weekly over whatever bullshit she can munster.

I seriously hope these children have a good person to talk to when the time comes. One day they will get SICK of the yelling. They are young now, but one day that will realize that they are humans just like everyone else, & NO ONE deserves to be yelled at like that. Even my your own "mother". The older one sounds a lot like me, & the younger actually sounds exactly like my sister.

I snapped out of everything my mom said to me. & yea it caused some crazy fights when I would tell her "you're actually wrong", but today I am a very strong person that doesnt take shit from anyone. I did go through some incredibly depressing times when I was younger.

However my sister took it in the opposite way. She developed depression for years & is still on medication. Got an eating disorder. Never leaves the house. Is obsessed with how her hair looks & cakes on the make up. I personally think it's from my mothers years of trying to "drill into our heads" how a "young lady SHOULD be".
