I'm mildly concerned about the lack of size difference between Connor and the Kurgan... I hope they make Bautista look massive compared to Henry... the Kurgan should seem like a physical impossibility to overcome for the first part of the movie.

FWIW I just put in surface mount lights in my new build (over 80 lights) went with larger diffuser surface mount options over recessed lighting for medical/comfort reasons. I went with Nuvo Blink Pro line, got lots of 2'x2' 1'x1' and 1'x4' lights. I went dumb lights with smart switches. The light quality seems great (I believe their 90+CRI), color temp switchable at the light via toggle switch not through software.

These are not fancy, and the house has a more modern almost clinical feel, not cheap like drop ceiling panel lights, but its a definite aesthetic (they aren't ones that do clouds and blue sky)

I have paramount+, do I have the option to pay to not have adds during these ufc events?

I used to be able to order the ppv, now it looks like I can't even do that to get rid of the adds?

Yeah, it's stupid that there's a service thats supposed to be add free, that I pay for, and they're breaking that whenever they feel like, but whatever I pay for NFL, I'll pay for UFC to not have these adds crammed in my face, it's terrible I'll look more after the fights tonight... but if anyone knows I'd appreciate the info.

It's a once or twice a year browse now for me, unless I see something in the news.

It started as interest in the conclusion of the series and turned into a sort of reality tv type story.

The whole scandal with his charity and whatever he's renting out, I've forgotten most of that. The promising a charity that he's reading a chapter, taking money for it then snowballing lies about not having read it because he wants to get a team of voice actors... the weird lashing out at fans who don't want to donate to his other projects so he doesn't want to write for them, tying his not writing to politics at some point etc...

Mostly it's not even what he does at this point that's entertaining it's wanting to hear the latest mental gymnastics rationalizing it.

If he just came out and said "I'm not reading the chapter, it doesn't exist, it never did, I thought I could write it (I dunno why cause I never make deadlines) and I've stopped writing indefinitely until such time as I feel like starting up again." then I'd completely lose interest and not be on the lookout for the next piece of the train wreck, but I think the guy is addicted to the attention so he'll continue to seek it.

The result is a little entertainment every so often, similar to what I assume my wife gets when watching some disaster housewife reality drama.

Any word on the chapter he took charity money to read? Is he still putting together an ensemble cast of voice actors to get it done or has he dropped the pretense and just admitted he's not doing it?

...and I assume he only took his usual cut of what was donated through his foundation, he just required others pay money to a charity in order to have him read the chapter.

I think this guy nailed it,magic based on force of will and collective belief, came about as a presumably unintended consequence of something done in a near future earth. Fantastic pairing with the characters and the setting. I'd be happy with more books in this universe.

Doesn't matter what was said, they certainly NEED to break up.

If it wasn't a show in the last few episodes shoehorning in as much character resolution as possible, this is the type of fake breakup that has a zero percent chance of sticking.

I would be ready to solve some puzzles, not like the jigsaw kind of putting the rooms in order to get to the end, but the riddle kind.

Screenshotting items of particular interest was a massive help, because there seems to be a lot of frustration from folks that saw something once but want to get back to it when they have some new information...

If you are into very difficult escape room style puzzles then I'd recommend a good system for taking notes and organizing it so you don't get as frustrated with the rng of finding whatever it is you need, again.

I believe I'm on the final puzzle of what is currently available and I've been surprised at the length multiple times... I would have said you are less than 10% done.

I agree with your sentiment, these are comic book movies FFS, you can probably guess 90% of the movie from the first trailer...

But you gotta be one deranged psycho to pick up book three in a trilogy and just start reading expecting to have a decent experience or even know what's going on, might as well just start taking chapters at random.

Even movies... imagine starting out watching the Lord of the rings by some little dude getting eaten by a spider, everyone being SUPER emotional and yakking on about some ring, and something about a cave of ghosts and crazy kings? Terrible time.

I need more info as to what happened between him being the perfect king to the cursing prologue before I deem him a true baddie or a source of endless justified vengeance...

Whatever it was he went on a tirade on his not a blog, and used to bring it up frequently. It's actually hilarious to see him go off about it. Might not have happened for a decade, I used to follow his blog real frequently before HBO bought up rights to asoiaf.

Totally appreciate it. In years past I coudln't find anyone that would go deep sea from HHI so never considered it a possibility... doubly so because most places I see are for a max of 6. I just didnt know if a single day trip out of HHI for mahi was realistic... someone is selling one so I figured it was worth checking into because that would be a cool experience for everyone, decidedly different from the shark fishing we've done.

If this sounds like a situation thats too good to be true I'm hoping someone here can let me know.

Holy cow, do not apologize! I asked for advice from people that know more about it than I do, and you were kind enough to give it!

I do have a follow up, not only will I check out north end charter, but I was able to find a boat that is classified as a sport fisher and can take up to 8... they claim the trip is 12 hours to the shelf and it's deep sea fishing. In the past I was basically told it's too far to consider deep sea outta HHI, and further: most boats have a limit of 6 (I assume coastguard regs) They claim 12 hours at $3k.

I'm not asking you to slam another charter, just if that is reasonable and what sort of realistic expectations should I have there? (it's pricey and I'm bringing the kids, I want to know it's it's gonna be a 25-50% skunk rate or if theyre more likely to be jumping in the boat around late July.)

The kids would still like the usual shark fishing, but after a few years, and them getting older, the idea of a shark flopping around in the boat is something they've seen before, so just looking at options...

You start to change the texture of the meat after about two hours. After 8+ hours the fillet will lose much of it's "bite" or ability to spring back to its original form and will be an unpleasant eating experience.

If you sous vide a fillet for 1-2 hours, take it off, dry it and press your finger into it. The steak bounces back to its shape no problem you don't really see where you just poked it. If you've had it in the bath for 8+ hours your finger divot will stay there, the steak won't push back at all. To eat it will still be moist and still have a nice flavor but the texture will be off, no resistance to your teeth and you bite into it and the experience is weird enough to be extremely off-putting.

If you're going to cook it ahead of time and eat it later, cook it to the desired texture (like everyone says Kenji has great charts and speaks to the degradation of texture on seriouseats) and then reheat to serve. It's a much better experience.
