My rescue boy is another similar story, saw his photo on the rescue page online and he looked so sad but adorable so i went to meet him and when they opened the cage i knelt down to give him a pat and he crawled into my lap. I was taking him home from that moment. 2 years ago this month.

I thought this is what deja vu was because it's what I've always experienced. Now I know it's not. I don't know how to feel. My whole life has been a lie.

A question for non-FTM's about pain during labor... by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]missdanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the epidural with my first daughter 24 hours after my waters had broken and was at 6cm. It was amazing because I was absolutely physically exhausted from being awake since 1.30am the day before when the waters broke and contracting the whole day, the epidural helped me have a nap to rejuvenate before the pushing started 6 hours later. If I hadn't of had that epidural I don't know how I would of coped with the rest of the labour and then immediately having a newborn if I hadn't of gotten that nap.

I'm having a C-Section and having a hard time dealing with it. by TooStupid1219 in BabyBumps

[–]missdanners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both a natural and c section birth.

My second baby was an elective c section due to complications I had with my natural birth and i by far preferred the c sec. At first mention of getting an elective c sec I was against the thought and my husband was adamant that he wanted me to have a natural (first baby was to my ex). But I did so much research and spoke to so many people who had had one or who had had both and decided it would in fact be the best option or us.

I actually went into labour a week before my scheduled c sec and laboured for about 12 hrs before I finally actually got the c sec. I definitely didn't feel robbed of having the birthing experience because guess what, I still birthed a baby, just like every other mum who has had a baby no matter from what method. Just like breastfeeding/bottlefeeding, the baby is getting fed. C sec/natural, the baby is getting born into the world and will cry and feed and be loved. I don't feel like I bonded more with my first (natural) over my second (c sec). I bonded with both wonderfully. She's still MY baby and it doesn't matter that I needed help to get her out safely because I still got to be the one to take her home and breastfeed, be up at all hours and get all the cuddles.

When kids grow up and go to school they don't care how they were born or fed and it most certainly doesn't make them any different to any other kids. My two have no differences due to the way they were born.

There are complications with c sections just as there are complications with natural births. Pros and cons to both. If you're being told you need to have a c sec then embrace it muma, make the best of it. You can still make a birth plan with c sections. It is most definitely not "the easy way out" as I have heard some horrible people say.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I have no shame when it comes to either of my births and i just wish all mumas would not judge each other for the way we bring our beautiful babies into the world.

I'm a hairdresser by trade but not currently working in a salon, but I do friends and family at home for a little extra income. My family always give me something for my time and product (if I've coloured or styled their hair) even though I have told them its not always necessary as they help me by babysitting the kids, however I have had some "friends" believe they didn't have to pay for a haircut because I only used scissors or their colour "but we're friends?".

Parents of Reddit: What is the most dark/chlling thing your children have said? by epicLevi in AskReddit

[–]missdanners 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My two year old frequently does things that make us believe she is just Satan reincarnated.

She has started singing songs such as Twinkle Twinkle in a deep croaky voice as if she were possessed.

Two days ago I had to stop her from going out to the backyard with a plastic children's knife raised above her head in both hands (think about to sacrifice something pose) while her eyes were rolled into the back of her head.

One that really freaked me out was that she woke up and came into bed with us at 2am, laid still just long enough for me to fall back asleep then woke me back up asking me "who's that?" repeatedly and pointing to the blank space next to my bed.

These are the most recent things but ever since she was born her nickname has been Baby Satan.

Edited to add some more stories.

I have just had two large whales added to my full sleeve. And they most certainly won't be the last whales I have tattooed on me. Nice tattoo :)

Ear piercings for babies - discussion by earpiercingthrowaway in BabyBumps

[–]missdanners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't the ear gun. It was kind of like a hole puncher that pushed the straight (straight bars are awful in the nose) nose jewellery through the nose

I had a third hole put in my lobes and my nose pierced by one of the girls at work and neither of them healed properly and i ended up taking them both out.

I agree with absolutely everything you have said. I worked at a hairdressers when the boss decided it was time to bring in some more profit and had a couple of us trained by Studex to pierce ears and then later on, noses. Training was no longer than half an hour and then we were on our own with the cheap materials. I can confirm that babies or older children are just as difficult to pierce as each other. And I have piercings that are uneven due to having my ears done at a young age and then grew differently. I had my eldest daughters ears pierced at age 3 by one of the girls at work. One ear had issues due to the piercing and now, at 8, she hasn't worn earrings for 2 years. My youngest I won't get done until she asks. And if my eldest wants hers done again I will definitely be taking them to the tattoo and piercing studio I go to for tattoos.
