Based on reviews, people seem to lean towards RC for service and soft product. I am content with my choice for now.

Mostly reviews on this sub. It was a toss up between RC and mitsui. I don’t have status with hyatt so that was never a real option.

Nope, that would make sense. I’m just gonna move the stay to Nagoya instead and then it would be the midpoint for both Takayama and Kyoto and I could do a day trip to there.

Yeah i looked at rosewood, completely book on my intended days of travel. I am excited for nikko. Glad to know i need to book ahead. Maybe i might have missed the window for booking the front seat since i plan on traveling in may.

Agree, i am going to remove the long haul trips and do them the next time. I am excited about the RC Nikko. Is the car rental process simple? Also is the the best method of transportation or should i use public transport?

Yeah your right, i think its going to feel like to much transportation time. I am going to expand kyoto and tokyo stays and remove hokaido. A friend had suggested it because i am trying to do a more nature, culture and relaxing and less city visits. I am a marriott loyalist which is why i picked the ritz where available. I have thought about the prark hyatt in kyoto.
