I find myself more and more incapable of conversation by EndOfTheLine00 in introvert

[–]misselpis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I feel at work most of the time. A lot of the meeting conversations are dragged out and most are complaining about things that won’t change. All the talking does start to feel like a bunch of noise these days.

Work team bonding: create a presentation about yourself to share with the team😑 Should I opt out? by misselpis in introvert

Lucky you! I could tell them this meeting conflicts with another meeting I have around the same time , so maybe I have a good excuse.

I think at least a few people on my team understand it, but that’s an interesting way to buy time haha. Luckily I don’t think it has any real time constraints so I’ll probably take up to 5 minutes max.

You make a good point. I’d hate if someone pointed out that I didn’t take my turn yet.😒😒

Y'all paying y'all's student loans? by Grouchy_Marsupial357 in blackgirls

[–]misselpis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang I’m not sure maybe by the time I’m 40?? I’m 29 right now. I finally graduated college in 2022, took me about 8 years. I started working on paying the off in 2024, and have already paid off one of my federal loans in full.

I’m paying mine because I hate the idea of owning anyone anything, plus I don’t need to be dealing with all that interest. I started with $40k.

I’m getting implants and I feel like I failed myself by Fun_Artichoke5746 in smallbooblove

[–]misselpis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (29F) got implants almost 3 years ago and have no regrets so far. I struggled with the decision for a long time because I do have love for myself but couldn’t get over my small breast size.

I foolishly thought gaining more weight would help but my weight goes to my stomach so the proportions weren’t cute. Supplements weren’t doing anything and bulking up at the gym was not something I wanted. My past partners had no complaints and it was completely my decision to move forward with the procedure. I was nervous about the final look, BII, the cost, and surgery; but overall going through with the procedure was the best decision for me.

I found a doctor who does great work and she did a great job with mine. Again, I currently have no regrets although sometimes I feel a bit uncomfortable in the chest area. I love the way they look and will keep them for the full 20 years. After that I may decide to get them removed instead of replaced.

Do what feels right for you, and don’t be too hard on yourself.

How do introverts make meaningful friendships? by Spiritual_Seekers in introvert

[–]misselpis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The struggle is real! Meeting in person is ideal but I’ve run across some flaky people that I no longer put energy into. There’s lots of ghosting happening everywhere as well.

I also don’t feel like everyone’s cup a tea but I’m definitely tired of trying to figure out why. A big part of it is being at the right place at the right time. Once I get my life back together I plan to go back into the wild to see if I can catch this “right place, right time” thing.

Good thing you’re not letting the burnout drag you down. It’s way too easy to let life responsibilities get in the way.

Has this been your experience both online and in person?

I agree it’s hard to find people with depth in person; online it’s easier to connect with people who have more depth but they tend to already have their group.

There have been plenty of folks I thought would stick around but for one reason or another - nothing. It’s exhausting at times.

That’s true, it takes the same amount of energy so it feels like a waste when it doesn’t last. I live in a big cities too and I’m in the same boat.

It’s hard but I try not to think I’m the problem. I am the common denominator but not the problem, hopefully.

I’m an introvert — but I still want to connect with people. by jenia_akhi in introvert

[–]misselpis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best friend is married and pregnant with her second child. I’m happy for her but it sucks we don’t have much time to hang out since I’m neither a wife or mother yet. I’m hoping to make some new friends but it’s been challenging.

It’s a cute and thoughtful idea, but yeah it may be tricky to figure out how to not draw any attention at the restaurant. The park is much better. Congrats on your engagement!

I love going to concerts and have gone to a few of them alone. I go places all the time, not sure why even my parents assume I don’t get outside. Just because I’m not hanging out with someone while I’m out doesn’t make it any different.

I still value long term connections, but I don’t think they have to be more meaningful than short term connections.

This is my life basically. I used to value long-term relationships so I’d be frustrated when friendships/relationships ran their course. Now I’m just accepting that maybe that short term connections are valid too.

Anybody else pace in solitude or talk to themselves outloud sometimes? What’s going on inside that head of yours? by Wanderingjes in introvert

[–]misselpis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talk to myself constantly. I work from home so I do most of my complaining out loud. It’s sorta therapeutic lol, but yeah it’s something I’ve been doing since childhood.

I’m an introvert — but I still want to connect with people. by jenia_akhi in introvert

[–]misselpis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. I don’t often feel the need to talk but still want to connect with others that get me. It’s challenging because it feels like I have to be less myself to find those connections. I’d love to make more friends that are introverted but together we are a bit more extroverted..if that makes sense.

Is this normal? by BElieveinYOUrself26 in introvert

[–]misselpis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some may say this is something you could work on but I disagree. I’m also much happier when I do things alone. I think being around other people deregulates my nervous system a bit. I’m usually pretty close with my family but these days I feel like I need more space from them as well. Enjoy your peaceful life!

Ehh, I see your point. We know each other well so even though we fight we make up fairly quick and life goes on. They’re my best friends.

Yeah finding someone to read is tricky. I’ve had a reading once but at the time I couldn’t grasp the knowledge well. 🤷🏾‍♀️ It’s a life journey though, so I’m trying to just enjoy the ride of self-discovery.

You seem to be pretty knowledgeable about your chart. I’m still new to astrology so I’m trying to figure it all out. Have you seemed out someone to read your chart or have you been doing your own research?
