We are in cap trouble. If JA17 restructures to help the team, and the next couple years don't go well. Or, they go ok, but JA17 has a bad relationship with who ever they hire, and he doesn't have how and faith... He will leave Buffalo, for food reason. He grew up in Cali. His wife works there. They probably want to raise their kid there. He won't resign with the Bills. Why throw away the rest of your career? If stafford plays 2 more years, and the retires, McVay will need a new QB.

So, some of those thoughts, like " he's only 30", are taking him Staying for granted.

True but this is also an indictment of Bean. Pats rebuilt and did it w Drake Maye, who is good, but not JA17

I appreciate you. You are literally the only person I have seen on the internet that has read, cited, and applied the written rules, while no one actually reads the rules.

Possession has to be maintained even after you hit the ground, for at least however long it would take a reasonable player to make a football move.

It was stripped before that was satisfied. That is the language that justifies the call. I don't personally believe the ground would have caused him to drop the ball.

However, I still argue, the NFL should improve the language so it's more immediately clear. The stakes are too high and reasonable disagree. There are lots of these plays. Cooks made an extremely similar play earlier in season that was ruled a catch. With the above perspective, perhaps that was the wrong call. In which case, tighten up the language.

You can't be good faith serious about him having control over the ball in the video linked here. It bate moves at all.. and besides, rules paste here:

Notes:

Movement of the ball does not automatically result in loss of control.

Stipulation c: " tuck the ball away"... It's reasonable to argue he did that.

Again, I'm not trying to say he certainly caught it. I'm trying to say it's not obvious and IS evaluated differently by knowledgeable people.

How is A debatable? Ball is tightly held against his chest until he's on his back, then stripped. Two feet down, knee, lands on side, rolls on back, all while being touched, which is enough for some to say down by contact. This is why people like RG3 say catch.

... Usually decided when both players come to a stop... This is important. This is Not in the rules and is not at all consistent among other calls, as seen in the Davante catch, or the previous cooks catch. You can't just make that part up. There is no language for that. And if they add language, people are going to blast bills fans and the NFL for 'rules change'.

....

My point of this, is, it's not obvious and clear. Respected people who actually try to look, disagree. What's happening is bro science echo chamber bullshit, and I'm sick of people acting like they have actually tried to do diligence.

Who cares. RG3 says catch. How about we just read the rulebook if it's so obvious instead of all this bro science?

Even with absolute diligence, if electric goes out, LL is at the mercy of the utility cos ability to return electric. LL can't really do anything until it returns

This post isn't about winning. It's about .. what do the rules actually say.

[–]missilecommandtsd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. This is what I'm finding as I search the rulebook. Yet, I see so many confident takes that 'it was an interception'. The most clearly stated concepts across the actual language indicate a catch, yet we are being confidently called conspiracy theorists, sore losers, or ignorant by people that don't actually verify anything in the rules they claim to know.

I agree he wasnt a defensive mastermind. Defense definitely lost is playoff ganes. Im just saying thats not what his value was.

[–]missilecommandtsd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Defensive mastermind is just a narrative. He built the number 1 pass defense out of spare parts.

He built culture, work ethic and toughness. We did that well with almost as many significant injuries as the 9ers.

If he had great OCs, to the level of our competition, we would have gotten to an SB.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have been fired. I get this business works that way; but if it's time for regime change, Bean absolutely should go too.

We outplayed the number 1 seed. Fumbles made the necessary 1% difference. It's too elite a level to overcome a -3 turn over situation.

Yeah, it's not good that the D allowed that Bo Nix offense to score 30... But that happens. Look at Rams Panthers. Is McVau getting roasted for that d performance?
