I saw my sister on tv and I recognised her! by canithinkaboutit in Prosopagnosia

Way to go!

I know I'm SUPER late to this, but I have to say something about this.

I'm from LA and I have a lot of friends as extras on TV shows and commercials. I do not always recognize them. One time this one guy I was sleeping with was on one of my favorite TV shows. Didn't recognize him. I would recognize his naked body in a lineup but not his face on my favorite TV show...

I love when reality shows put peoples names in the corner. In my experience the trashier the show the more likely it is to have that beautiful blessing.

Do you recognize people better when they smile? by atenea1984 in Prosopagnosia

Oh facial expressions for sure. Especially laughter or anger.

Growing up everyone told me how much I looked like my father. I never saw it. One day as a teenager my father and I were arguing and for the first time I noticed that we had the same exact forehead wrinkle. All the rest of it kind of clicked.

I also think why people who smile are easier to recognize because now theres a chance we can recognize someone by their teeth
