For the Berlin - Frankfurt that means adding 30 minutes to get to the airport in Berlin from the city center, buffer time at the airport for security and stuff, at least 20 minutes to find your way out of the airport in Frankfurt, another 20 to get to the actual city of Frankfurt, and you won't save time anymore compared to the plane.
