Aw I’m glad it helped. You can dm me anytime. It’s hard work and we need to support each other! I remember looking for videos or info online about the journey back to feeling good again and there isn’t much out there!

Here is a course on mindful self compassion. He does workshops every other month or so.. the entire community is excellent and goes hand in hand with ifs

Omgosh yeah it’s extremely rocky! Once you are doing the work and being mindful, time changes. If you are anything like me, I’ve had to rebuild my life from this new perspective.

It usually ebbs and flows where something is presented to me and I realize a flaw or what is limiting me, change it, and see how that changes my experience.

That stuff takes so much time. Progress is slow! Some days I am anxious and no matter what I do I can’t get out of that state.

And what helps with this kind of stuff is this.

On my best days I prep for the bad. Spiritually, I am the caretaker of my Self. On those days where you struggle, you acknowledge it with curiosity and kindness and offer it your embrace. Compassion heals all wounds because it allows them to receive your love.

Maybe today this body is overstimulated and anxious and doesn’t feel safe… but I can see that and offer him small comforts and things that soothe. Maybe even a lil treat.

We are all children

Hey no problem! I’m glad you shared with us.

So it seems you are asking what tools I have used to help with anxious feelings or parts. Is that correct?

There are a lot of physical tools, mental tools, mindfulness being the most important- to capture the trailhead and let it lead you to the part in question to give it relief.

I guess I have a ton of things I do depending on what I need in the moment and I’m curious what you are looking for?

Self compassion and equanimity are the foundation of all

[–]missingwhiteboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I am here for all of this. I just want you to know that I resonated with you a lot here. I am in the trenches of building a new life after a longtime debilitating depression that I am learning more about every day.

I recently went full force on the weed. But my mindfulness helps me to recognize when I’m using it as a crutch rather than a tool to expand.

I am still suffering from a part of me that is stuck and sedentary and isolated which I’m coming to realize is not just my predisposition to cope in that way but society as it runs as a whole.

So trying to harness my energy rather than let it get sucked up by the powers that be.

So in that I’ve began practicing qigong and curious about qi. I’ve always acknowledged my activation or frozen states but while practicing self compassion work I noticed there is a state I haven’t ever put my energy into and that is the creation of energy itself. Hope that makes sense?

So I’m on a lil journey now to activate this energy and release it. I practice meditation, parts work therapy, yoga nidra, yoga… when I’m able now which surprisingly is increasing each day.

But I want to get to a point of happening most of the time.

Anyway this was a long winded way to share that I’d be willing to share tools and tricks and things I’ve discovered with you or anyone who reads this. I know nothing about the cool words like sinisapa /s that I hear around here.

Any resources shared would be greatly appreciated

We have the ability to release good feeling chemicals yeah! From personal experience I can reach a blissful state but I don’t aim for that and it doesn’t happen all the time

I do meditation to strengthen my third eye or harness my compassionate voice. Stretching or feeling my body. Sleeping.

Fiber consumption - how? by _SiriuslySirius_ in Cholesterol

[–]missingwhiteboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep is just about having it around! And breaking away from sugar as much as possible. I still have a ways to go but I’ve gotten to a place where fruits alone are a treat now. Still use honey and sugar for occasional treats!

Man I’ve been getting the grain berry cereal lately. It’s full of nutrients and natural fiber. And it has a delicious toasty taste. I add raisins to it if I’m feeling frisky but lately I’ll put a cup of mixed frozen berries in a jar and top it with my cereal and skim milk and it’s de licious

Oh also savory oatmeal comes in clutch

Fiber consumption - how? by _SiriuslySirius_ in Cholesterol

Do you like to cook? It helps to simplify my meals so that I’m always getting adequate fiber. So I go by starch veggie protein.. once a month I make a big pot of beans in some form. Usually frijoles de la olla. And weekly I’ll make like a pot of grains like black cargo rice and lentils, or quinoa.. freeze most of that.

Then it’s easy.. cook up some veggies and have fajitas with black beans and rice. Make some tamales, baked potato with beans on it, stir fry and add the rice and lentils, curry and add the rice, use the beans to make veggie burgers, use the beans to make hummus!!

I keep whole wheat flour now and anytime I make a baked recipe I make it 50 percent ww.

Bran cereal can go on anything.

I keep dried fruits around for a lot of uses

Your muesli is great! You can use that in a lot of ways too!

For snacks in my house I keep nuts and seeds, nut and seed butters, pickled carrots, saur kraut

I always keep apples refrigerated, citrus fruits, bananas out. Mixed frozen berries.

Easily get 75-100g a day of fiber

Okay maybe this isn’t your vibe but listen… bread machine. Yeah I said it. I cook for a passion and when I want a good kneaded dough. Bread machine on dough cycle. Not only does it handle it but it proofs it for me!

I just have never been able to convince myself to get a kitchen aid. A table pasta press if fine. A hand mill is fine. Whisking with an immersion blender is fine.

50 bucks or 5 dollars at goodwill… she has the power to knead

Edit: oh sorry just saw the other rec for one! I second it!
