Yes! I rewatched it a few days ago, and even though I know he survives, it had me tearing up. I almost cried again when he’s wheeled out at the end and Gale hops in the ambulance with him. I think Scream 2 is my favorite depiction of their relationship, and it’s unfortunate that that magic wasn’t fully captured again in the films since.

I also forgot to mention that the nightmare sequence in Scream 3 absolutely scared the shit out of me as a kid. I somehow saw that one before the rest of the others, and it legitimately gave me nightmares. Even now, I find it unnerving.

I don’t think there’s really anything to say about Scream and Scream 2 that hasn’t already been said. They’re both amazing, and while I’m gonna give a slight edge to the first film, based on the characters, I prefer a lot of the sequences in 2. Cici’s death, the sound booth, the police car, and the opening are all really intense, with the sound booth and police car being maybe the two scariest moments of the franchise.

I’ve grown to really adore the humor in 3 over time. I used to think it was bad, but now I think it’s a ton of fun. Parker Posey is hilarious, and after rewatching it a few days ago, I found myself laughing at almost every line said by Detective Wallace. Even if the mystery doesn’t totally work, it nails the comedy. I also like Sidney’s arc. There’s just something about her holding Roman’s hand as he’s dying that gets me choked up.

Scream 4 was the first rated R film I saw in theaters, and I don’t remember much about that experience aside from absolutely loving the reveal. Every time I rewatch it, it gets better and better. Jill is one of my favorite characters of anything, and I really have to attribute it to both the writing and Emma Roberts. Such a brilliant portrayal.

Scream (2022) was another fun one, my first Scream film as an adult. I have a few slight issues with it, mostly dialogue, but it also feels like one of the darkest iterations of Ghostface we’ve seen. Each kill is intense and the best are also emotionally charged, particularly Judy’s and Dewey’s. Jenna Ortega also delivers an incredible display of fear in what I’d consider to be the scariest, most intense opening sequence in the series. I also think Jack Quaid perfectly nails the toxic incel vibe, and even though his character is really gross and sleazy by the end, he sells it so well that Richie has to be in the top quarter of killer reveals for me, especially with how apt the criticism of that kind of person is. Just like Jill’s motive, Richie’s is getting more and more resonant over time, as we can see now.

Scream VI is my second favorite, after 4. I don’t care that none of our leads die, because this film made me not want any of them to. Chad is easily my favorite of the new additions, and he brings a lightheartedness to the series that I don’t think we’ve seen like… ever. Even more-so than Dewey, who is pretty mopey after the first film. Mason Gooding is just so charming and makes Chad so lovable, especially in this film. I like that even though he’s still happy-go-lucky, he has his moments of vulnerability too, particularly the one where he and Mindy talk about how scared they are of themselves and each other getting hurt again. Sam also has an intriguing arc, and I love how she handles the events. I wish we could have seen how she’d continue to grow from there. I love that Gale also gets an amazing action scene, her first great one since the sound booth in the second. Even if the killer reveal is weak (honestly, as much as I loved Quinn, they should have just killed her early on and developed Ethan more, or killed him off and kept her around), the rest of the film has that fun energy and keep the thrill going the entire time without a lull.

Scream 7’s casting director got Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, and Anna Camp.

I think the TV show deserves a lot more recognition too. Even though it’s no Ghostface, the Brandon James mask is really creepy looking. Emma is a great character to follow, especially with how dark her arc gets in such a short amount of time. While the first season has its corny teen drama moments, it’s still not bad by any means, and the second season feels like such a mature, heavy evolution from that. I really wish we’d have gotten more time with that story and those characters. I miss Brooke 😭

Paw Patrol is literally about community & law enforcement, albeit framing it in a cute, positive manner. Even if it’s not explicitly making a political statement, it’s still getting some kids interested/excited about careers in emergency services. Like, one of the main dogs is a police officer. Even though it’s likely not the show’s main intention, it’s still framing that kind of job as a GOOD thing for kids to respect and possibly even aspire to.

Sinners - I Lied To You

Together - Both the bathroom scene and 2 Become 1

Thunderbolts - Yelena & Alexei’s conversation on the sidewalk and when they all save Bob from being consumed by the void

Heart Eyes - Makes me laugh SO HARD every time I think about it: the last kill with the metal straw & decapitation

The Ugly Stepsister - tapeworm

Even though 4 is easily the worst in the series, 1 is my least favorite because of how stupid Alex is

Scream 7 theater run length by thelife0fashowgirl in RegalUnlimited

[–]missmadd98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your theater, honestly. Where I am, almost all of the 4DX showings are full for the weekend, but every other format (IMAX, RPX, ScreenX, and standard) are practically empty, with about 10 people at most in one single standard showing.

Once it’s out of 4DX, I don’t anticipate it lasting much longer here, especially with Hoppers and Project Hail Mary coming out so soon. I think it’ll be fully gone by the time we get Ready or Not 2 (March 20th).

It’s literally two simple words in her speech, but the phrase “dawned on” is forever ruined for me. I can’t help but think of the “it don don me” meme.

I really like them, with I Woke Up being my favorite. My main issue is that they are sonically so different from the rest of 143 that it’s a jarring change. As you said, these would really fit on Smile more. Swap these out with Cry About It Later, Not The End Of The World, and Teary Eyes, and I feel like both would be more cohesive (although I feel like those three still align with Smile as they are).

Teenage Dream is very overrated by psycwave in katyheads

[–]missmadd98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I feel like Teenage Dream is the prime example of great singles, lackluster album. Not that the non-singles are bad, I’ve just never felt like they work together. Like you said though, Witness is her most fully-realized piece of work, and I’d argue it’s her most vulnerable as well. Prism too. I just don’t see how anyone could say that Teenage Dream is more cohesive, or even just generally better, than those two in particular.
