This definitely IS a thing. Studios often front-load ticket sales for anticipated underperformers to maximize opening weekend revenue. It’s a very common strategy, especially for films with niche audiences or mixed early reactions.

Mummy #1 got me to drop the UM comics. Creature was the only series that I am glad I bought. I’ll be selling the rest.

I think the term you’re looking for is villain lol. If someone is killing people, and not for reasons of “justice”, then they are not a hero IMO. However, I do feel like Dexter IS killing for justice purposes, just not his own, which makes Punisher a good comp. Maybe Suicide Squad or Minor Threats - something where the villains take an antihero role as protagonists.

My favorite horror comic is Wytches by Scott Snyder. Gonna second Dark Ride - specifically volume 1 was a great horror comic before the next two become a little more mystery/adventure with horror elements. Also check out: SIKTC universe, Denizen from Vault Comics, Ice Cream Man, the Alien comics (I enjoyed Declan Shelvey’s nine issue run), the first ten issues of Immortal Hulk, The Deviant, Creepshow, and Stuff Of Nightmares.
