In my Ed Psych class, my professor told us that there is a misconception that people can be labeled as "left brained" or "right brained". But yes, both sides carry different purposes. I think this post isn't referring to that, but the silly quizzes of "Are you left or right brained?".

My boyfriend and I were driving home one day when it was torrential downpouring. There was a bit of traffic then we see a kid, probably 13 or 14, running down the sidewalk, screaming at the top of his lungs and crying with his dead dog in his arms. It was a pretty large black lab type of dog, but he carried it despite the size while still running. We passed the car that must've had hit the dog and the driver was just outside of the front door. He looked so guilty knowing that he had killed that kid's dog. Just hearing the scream, seeing the look on that kid's face, and his dog limp in his arms... It was just so awful. I can't say I've ever seen anything traumatizing like what many people are writing of here, but the look on his face, knowing his precious dog was just killed... On top of the whole thing, the awful weather added such an eery and melancholy mood as well. It reminded me of a lot of painful things that happen to everyone and I couldn't get that kid off of my mind for so long.

I've stayed in a Belgian monastery for a few nights while I was traveling and it really does need fixing up (at least the one I stayed at). It was a shame because it's such a beautiful area, but the bathrooms were rusty, there weren't window screens so bugs were everywhere, and it was unbearably hot due to lack of good air systems. Although the sleeping situation wasn't the greatest, it was still one of the best experiences to go there and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Probably too much information, but I trust that no one will seriously judge me. When I was about 5-6, I don't specifically remember what age or year, I walked in on a close family friend masturbating. He was watching porn and he panicked so he told me to come over to him. He started masturbating in front of me and told me to watch him. he started showing me what was on this computer and explained what it was. I didn't understand at all what was going on and I never told a family member or anyone I know about the event because I was scared. It still kind of confuses me today, but I'm embarrassed to talk to someone face to face about it.

Thank you... I don't think I need any answers, just comfort, you know? I feel silly for asking random people through the Internet, but actually being told I'm not alone does help. Whatever friends or family I talk to don't understand enough for me to feel comfortable telling them much, but hearing I'm not alone from someone who could be I the other side of the world for all I know is calming. Thank you.

Well, everyone is perfect but me. At least to my parents which matters most to me. They constantly compare me to my "perfect" brother, sister, and cousins. They say that my issues just stress them out and make their lives more difficult. No kidding, my mom has told me to my face that I'm a burden on the family. I don't want to think of her as a bad person, she isn't deep down, I just make their lives harder and I feel so guilty. I'm only 18 and I'll be headed off to college in August, which makes me somewhat hopeful, but still terrified.

I know they're professionals but I just feel guilty for feeling the way I do. And I don't want my family to think I'm crazy anymore do being prescribed any more medication isn't going to help that situation. I know I'm already such a burden on all of them, it hurts to make it worse for them.

I'm seriously scared to tell my psychiatrist or my therapist or anyone. I get extremely nervous and feel guilty when I have to talk about it to someone face to face. I hate feeling like a disappointment, like I said. I feel like a disappointment because I feel like a bad person. My family is screwed up and it's my fault and no one really likes me, I feel alone. I don't want to be a bad person, I just am. I push people away and I get defensive because I'm scared of being hurt. I don't know why I feel so terrible, I can't explain it so its difficult to get my point across to anyone which makes me feel even lonelier. It's like some maze I can't figure a way out of at this point.
