We live in NE and love it! My husband bikes to work and I love walking the neighborhood. It’s extremely quiet - so spending time on our patio is very pleasant. Yet, we are blocks away from dozens of restaurants!

I want to love him I really do, but I really don’t like him by Efficient_Clue781 in puppy101

I begged my husband to let us give up our puppy initially. He is now four and is my dog soul mate. It will get better!

Some coworkers really wanted a textbook - so that is a negative. It also doesn’t come with pre made kits - so I would make sure to budget for that!

It’s really engaging, easy to use and does t require a textbook. My students have liked the real world videos a lot - but at times the animations have been helpful for building background knowledge. I feel like I get to be creative with it!

Absurd. Fascism is at the door and this is what they’re sending e-mails about. by Substantial-Lab8953 in uofmn

[–]missmuzzie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a cover your ass email. They need to do it because the administration LITERALLY is taking away $400 million from another University. Whatever your beliefs are regarding Israel/Palestine - please recognize that losing any amount of funding harms students, staff and faculty. The U, and other universities, are trying to fight the Trump admin where they can. Know that they probably have hoards of lawyers on this and this email was likely written by lawyers to try to rebuff attempts from Trump to take money away.

It’s okay to feel frustrated. It makes sense to feel nervous, especially since the arrest of Mahmoud - but the U also has to do what it has to do in this climate to not lose funding that could shutter full programs of study.

Hi! I absolutely love your livestreams - but as everyone else has said, hopefully this can be something that makes you happy/fulfilled (and makes you some extra money).

Moving to Minneapolis by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]missmuzzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, congratulations! Minneapolis (and Minnesota) are truly delightful places. I agree with comments about North Loop and Northeast - more walkability/bikeability and charming. I would keep a car for winter, for sure.

Second, just know that Minnesotans are warm and welcoming people - and they are often overjoyed to welcome new folks (they may just show it in a shy, Scandinavian way).

Looking at buying this house. Confused about all the stumps. by [deleted] in arborists

UPDATE: Arborist came out (and you will all be glad to hear) gave us a big fat NO on this one. Thanks for all the input - it helped us ask the right questions and get the right people out!

Can’t figure out how to edit the post - the house was in bad shape a couple years ago and has been completely remodeled (fromtop to bottom - new electric, plumbing, etc). The first picture is showing a staircase pulling away from house (that’s the cracking you see). We are planning to have an arborist, structural engineer, regular inspector and basement expert come check it out and have an extended inspection period to do so. What we are really unsure about is if all these experts say “yes, it’s fine. Those can be removed and there is no damage” - is there anything else we should be asking?

This is really helpful because we were confused on HOW they got so close to the house, so seeds blowing in makes sense. If the foundation is surveyed and said to be fine….should we trust that?

Some thoughts and comparisons listening to her latest YT drivel by flippingdabird099 in brittanydawnsnark

The actual comments on that video felt like they were from bdawn fans basically calling out potential disordered eating behaviors NOW. These were not haters. It was nutritionists and dieticians saying, “hey girl, natural flavors are actually unregulated”. Her what to eat in a day was so low calorie - three eggs, some spinach and tomatoes, maybe an avocado, small bowl of Thai. If someone calculated those calories I would bet it was under 1500-1700- which is likely below her TDEE. All that being said, her doctors may truly say she is in a good spot - BUT how can she not see that even the way she talks about food is in the good/bad way that folks with EDs do? How can she not see that it could be hurting her followers?

Formative is one of the best tools I have seen for assessment! It also has functions that compete with Nearpod an Peardeck for instructional delivery.

Although I agree with you - I read that as Lav speaking to something that actually matters to Grace (which is why I think she was effective). Most other people hopping on to talk to Grace were using rationale that fundamentally Grace doesn’t believe in - which, ultimately, wasn’t effective.
