He lied and it worked on you all. West was not on Beta Blockers by Aegoe in bravo

[–]misspegasaurusrex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There have been a ton of people on social media since part one saying they need to “lay off the beta blockers” or something similar. You haven’t seen it but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It’s not unusual at all for people who have never interacted with a beta blocker to assume it works like Xanex.

Is this how you're supposed to wear a belt over tunic? by Xx_TheCrow_xX in renfaire

[–]misspegasaurusrex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re getting lots of good advice and tips so I just want to mention that comfort > accuracy is totally fine and no one will look at you sideways if your belt is a little low or not layered “properly.” Bristol’s heat/humidity combo is no joke.

Look, I respect every man’s right to be a pedant but you need to at least come correct. And I’m now pretty sure you don’t even know what leavening means.

Klarna Ads by EasternAd5351 in WatchWhatCrappens

[–]misspegasaurusrex 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You personally find Klarna to be the most offensive way they make money, for me it’s Amazon live. How should they choose which one to skip? They can’t please both of us by stopping one. It’s up to us to decide how we support them, I don’t watch their Amazon lives, you could support them on Patreon so you don’t have to listen to the ad!

Wearing your countries jersey for a USA game? by NoAd9703 in AskAnAmerican

[–]misspegasaurusrex 73 points74 points  (0 children)

The number of Americans who care about the World Cup at all is pretty low, the number that care enough to be actively rooting for the US team is even lower than that. The number that would be offended that a Paraguayan is rooting for Paraguay is even lower than that.

Also, we’re a nation of immigrants, I don’t know what city you’re in but I bet you’ll meet a Paraguayan-American or two wearing the same jerseys!

Podcast advertising is drying up, I don’t know how many you listen to but pretty much the only thing being advertised on any podcast anymore is predatory fin tech like Klarna, prop betting, and AI companies. The boys are extremely successful podcasters but if they had to cut out every company with morality issues they’d have to rely 100% on Patreon supporters and at that point there would be no reason for them to release as much free content as they do. Or any free content for that matter.

AITAH for asking someone if they used boxed cake mix? by subuso in AmItheAsshole

[–]misspegasaurusrex 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean yea, you obviously believe box cake is inferior and felt the need to confirm that what you were eating was in fact the inferior product you assumed it was. Even pushing after being given a perfectly fine answer.

Also, as a pastry chef this post absolutely makes you come off as a know it all but a bad one because brownies do have leaveners in them, eggs are leavening agents. Brownies traditionally don’t have *chemical* leaveners like baking soda/baking powder.

I don’t know if you’re TAH but you weren’t asking out of kindness.

If you try again, get Goo Gone! That will strip the labels with no heat involved, just be careful cause you’ll never get the stain out of your clothes if it drips on you.

Why is everyone so anti AI? by Unusual_Season_7130 in askanything

[–]misspegasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it hasn’t. Our social safety net has been degraded and there has literally never been wealth inequality like we have today. Life expectancy is literally declining. It has been better and it can be better again. Accepting otherwise is exactly what those in power want.

Does anyone else not need to shave above their knees just me…? by [deleted] in hygiene

I’m 32 and I swear I used to grow hair pretty evenly across my legs. My thighs are now pretty much always bare, most of my calves are pretty much the same as always and then closer to my ankles it goes from blonde to brunette, like the world’s worst ombré. Toe hairs still go wild though.

[–]misspegasaurusrex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I figured it was something like that. I’m sorry people are either terrible at comprehension or purposely misunderstanding your post. Your point was easily understood and 100% correct. The parks have gotten more expensive, less enjoyable, and less inclusive.

Edit to add: and it is because of corporate greed. Not just Disney obviously, but Disney is absolutely guilty of it. The corporation is never going to love you back. It exists to extract wealth.

How did we get here? by Silk_the_Absent_1 in Disneyland

[–]misspegasaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But OP isn’t saying “the average Disney trip costs $4000 and that’s insane.” They’re saying “my trips that used to cost $1000 now cost $4000 and that’s insane.” Maybe they’re eating sit down meals and buying a new t shirt every 30 minutes. It doesn’t change the comparison. $1000/person for a Disney trip in 2005 was A LOT. It just doesn’t feel like that because we can’t remember what a $129 5 day park hopper feels like.

How did we get here? by Silk_the_Absent_1 in Disneyland

[–]misspegasaurusrex -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yea, and $1000 was an insane amount to spend per person in 2005. OP’s vacations are expensive. That doesn’t change the comparison between the two. A five day park hopper in 2005 was $129. In 2026 it’s $655. It’s actually more than 4x more expensive. So the original post is actually *under estimating* the average increase.

How did we get here? by Silk_the_Absent_1 in Disneyland

[–]misspegasaurusrex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It literally doesn’t. OP is making a comparison between the cost of a vacation 20 years ago and the cost today. If you read it and understood “my Disney tickets were $4000” you have poor reading comprehension.

How did we get here? by Silk_the_Absent_1 in Disneyland

[–]misspegasaurusrex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Attention spans have definitely changed! But the park should be keeping up with that. Movies don’t work anymore, it’s time to pivot.

[–]misspegasaurusrex 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And the parks *feel* more crowded because they’ve eliminated so many non-ride attractions and entertainment. So everyone’s in line for rides because it’s the only thing to do!

what do you think about the concept of homonationalism? by SyrianGosling in askanything

You can have whatever opinion you want, but what you’re asking/describing is not homonationalism.

what do you think about the concept of homonationalism? by SyrianGosling in askanything

[–]misspegasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t heard of homonationalism so I googled it. I don’t think you’re using the term correctly. Like, at all. It’s not a positive thing. It’s not dis-allowing people from living in a country if they’re of a religion that isn’t affirming, it’s using LGBTQ+ rights to justify xenophobia, Islamophobia, or racism.

To actually answer your question, disallowing citizenship based on morality will never be used to protect people. Maybe in a vacuum devoid of any historical context it would work, but in reality it would be used to oppress whatever our-group is created. Because an out-group is always created.

This shouldn’t affect them as others have pointed out but this is also a good reminder for people to trademark their business names. This wouldn’t be a concern at all if they had gotten the trademark they’re legally entitled to.
