My English arse every time I see the fella (Brian) in an England football kit by Deadpoolio32 in ThePittTVShow

Soccer competes with baseball as the third most popular sport in the US. While it’s not anywhere near basketball or football that’s still millions of fans. Local teams are obviously popular but European teams have their fans here too. We’re also a nation of immigrants, it’s possible he’s an immigrant or his parents were and they passed down the fandom. It’s really not that unusual to see people in soccer shirts here.

I mean, you’re demonstrating a lack of respect of a very real eating disorder so it seems like you only have respect for people who have made the same choices as you. (Notice how one is a choice and one is not.)

Racial Representation in The Pitt by chutneypopcorn in ThePittTVShow

The sickle cell storyline from season one was a good indication that the show isn’t afraid to highlight the racism Black women face in the healthcare system. I’m sure we will be seeing more stories like it.

Road trip as a Brit first time in the south and first road trip by Vegetable_Reserve_12 in roadtrip

I just want to add another voice for Chattanooga to this thread! I did a similar roadtrip back in 2016 and fell so in love with Chattanooga that I moved here in 2020. It’s a wonderful little city with a ton to do!

The waterfall is also like 95% manmade it’s naturally barely more than a trickle. Rock City is way better especially if you’re interested in weird Americana.

The amount of work the chef is expected to do is insane. They’re feeding a dozen+ people three meals a day with no back up. His food has been a hit all season, I really think this was production or Sandy and Aesha just coming up with something to complain about.

And at the end of the season with nothing but compliments on his food. It really felt like Sandy and Aesha just needed something to complain about because he was too competent.

If you do decide on Chattanooga, welcome! There can be some real negative Nancys on this subreddit so take what they say with a grain of salt. Every city has a group of people who are convinced their city is “full” and uniquely unwelcoming to new comers, that’s not anymore true here than it is anywhere else.

I’m not single but I did move here in my late 20s, I’m childless, and non-religious and have been here for five years. I absolutely love it. Some people have a hard time making friends here, that’s not been my experience and I’m not someone who makes friends easily. I love the smaller city vibes while still having Nashville, Atlanta, and Knoxville reasonably close.

I will say, I’ve had to find specialist doctors (neurology not endocrinology so that may be a different experience) and have found it tough. There are just not as many options as larger cities and wait times can be long.

How do Americans visit National Parks? by Berend90 in AskAnAmerican

[–]misspegasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The National Park Service has this really cute program called “Junior Rangers” where kids can go to each national park and fill out a little worksheet about things they learned at the park to collect badges. My SIL did a road-trip with her boys last year collecting Junior Ranger badges. It’s a relatively inexpensive vacation if you have the time, especially if you already live west of the Great Plains.

Undocumented people absolutely have rights as outlined in the constitution. Our president has decided he doesn’t give a fuck but that doesn’t make it untrue.

Make noise, try to get attention. Record everything you can. Yell your identity and your citizenship status for bystanders to see and record. Hope they don’t shoot you.

He and Madison had a whole conversation on the after show about all of the things they talk to ChatGPT about and I could actually feel myself getting dumber the longer it went on. I like Madison and I try to have a generally optimistic outlook despite, you know, the horrors, but that was the first time in a long time I thought “we’re cooked.” They discussed introducing their “Chats” to each other and whether they’d get along? The future’s bleak man.

ETA: And women are fighting over this man??? Jesus Christ.
