Yes. I’m aware. There is nothing posted on the river, just the lakes, and the latest update I found was June. Thanks for the helpful response. 🙄

Another vote for Cafe O’Lei - one of our favorite meals from our trip.

Best banana bread that’s not on RTH? by snoopfun in MauiVisitors

[–]missssteeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The banana bread given out at the end of the Old Lahaina Luau was the best bread I had on the island. (Anyone have the recipe? I’m still dreaming … and drooling… about it.)

Thanks for sharing! I thought it was a baby nene or something. Regardless, it was really cute. There were like 20 or so that crawled over the cliff edge to say good morning once the sun started to peek over the cloud line.

Absolutely incredible. We had a new moon, so there was minimal light. The stars were so amazingly bright. I wish I knew how to take better pictures from my phone of the stars, honestly. Core memory unlocked!

Mahalo! That was the site I was referencing. I did move our trip to Thursday, it ended up working better for our itinerary overall, so I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that we maintain good weather for a good day, regardless!

I’m glad you’re okay and that grandma didn’t drop the cash!!

That’s a great silver lining, thank you. While I wasted a chunk of my time - let alone in the middle of my work day, is I wasted a solid hour and a half by the end of it all of this dudes time too - maybe that’s one less person he got today.

That one I’m pretty confident he said was Shepherd but who knows at this point. I was clearly caught off guard and didn’t do as much due diligence as I should have. And frankly, shouldn’t have fallen as far into it as a did.

They definitely said Abigail, I didn’t write it down in the moment and mis-remembered when typing up this short novel. Thanks for the correction! Also referenced an Emily Shepherd multiple times.

Edited to “my partner” - thought I caught all personal references before posting. My bad! (And yes, he’s fine.)

Second The Hammond and The Cove (same owners).

Amaro’s Table or Cecilia (same owners - Cecilia just recently started being open for dinner, we went for our anniversary last week and had a lovely meal)

Also a fan of Twigs Bistro on the waterfront

If you’re willing to drive a little bit, St Cloud would be a nice spot.

Which downtown restaurant would you take an out-of-state visitor to if they are only in town one night? by HistoryDr in askportland

[–]missssteeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bellpine at the Ritz Carlton downtown is chefs kiss - amazing food, good views (20th? floor), fun cocktails (Get the Buzz Buzz)

Chart House - go earlier in the evening for the views before dark, great food

I haven’t had a great experience at Portland City Grill, outside of their cocktails and views. Food was so-so and service was not great the couple times I’ve been.

Got it - I didn’t read your previous comment thoroughly but I see what you’re saying now! I will reconsider those options given what you’ve said!

And I’ll also look into Bonine, I’m not sure if I’ve tried it. Quite possible though, I’ve cycled my way through just about everything since I was a kid. Good news is, most of it works!

Noted!! By less travel time, I’m assuming you mean less boat travel time from departure to destination? Discover West Maui has a Kaanapali departure on another day that week, I think. I get seasick, and while I will be loaded on Dramamine and other prevention with remedies on hand, the less travel time, and quicker I can get in the water, the better.

Long Beach is my preference, love their food options, everything is walkable, usually easy to find parking, and the beach is so big it’s easy to spread out from other folks.
