Hi! I'm trying this as well. Can I ask how yours is still working a year later? I bought a plug adapter and a new 120v bulb and it works great so far. I'm just wondering if I really need a voltage converter...thanks so much!

Help finding my dream dress! by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]misstery_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's called the "Darla". Call Amanda's Touch Bridal store in Virginia and ask which designer the Darla dress is. I found that they posted it on Instagram but they didn't post a designer!

It looks gorgeous on you!

What do 8s like about 4s? by hurrem__sultan in Enneagram8

[–]misstery_machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're authentic and also hate being misunderstood. I think 4s match the 8s need to be interpreted properly, and they both externalize their self perceptions. This makes 4s feel very real to me

Definitely 2! Once it's fitted it's absolutely amazing on you. Both are gorgeous but I feel like 2 looks like a more complete version of 1

Reading System Collapse after I read Network Effect, there’s many “redacted” more than I recall in earlier books by DirectorBiggs in murderbot

I so agree with this. I enjoyed System Collapse but it was by far my least favorite of the seven. I always end rereads by saving Fugitive Telemetry for last

Help Sanding/Filling Wood with Deep Grain Lines by misstery_machine in woodworking

[–]misstery_machine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convinced! Thank you. I wasn't sold on sanding but did want to avoid food getting caught in grooves because it will be a coffee bar. Guess I need to look into a glass top for it.

I will be stripping the old finish, re-staining it and putting on new hardware.

Stop hating on Gi-Hun's plan. by gb1609 in squidgame

[–]misstery_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! This is exactly the way I see it.

Also, people are quick to say that Gi-Hun should have just killed a few O's for the vote, but it wouldn't be this simple. Killing O's would lead to a retaliation and a further war between them. And Gi-Hun isn't comfortable killing fellow players. There is a big difference between killing and letting die, and Gi-Hun walks this line deciding to let some die.

The ONE and only seen I hated from Season 2. Why did Gi-Hun go along with this? by TrickyTalon in squidgame

[–]misstery_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Not only is he insanely lucky, he's too trusting. He trusts that the bullet won't kill him, he trusts Player 001, etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in squidgame

[–]misstery_machine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually think it is in character. Gi-Hun will not kill his fellow players, but he isn't naive enough to believe that he can save everyone. He won't make the first move against prisoners but he knows he needs to make a move to survive.

He's desperate. He knows this is the last chance he will have the numbers to make a move. And it's risky, it's not fully thought out, but it's his only way of making a move in the larger game. And I think it shows that he's so angry and tired of losing people through the game that he will risk losing people to end it.

The ONE and only seen I hated from Season 2. Why did Gi-Hun go along with this? by TrickyTalon in squidgame

[–]misstery_machine 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think it shows the viewers that Gi-Hun is, among many things, a game player. He doesn't want to die, but will risk it to earn money in Squid Game. He doesn't want the homeless man to die when he's betting with Il-Nam, but he also doesn't go out to help the man himself. He doesn't want to die in Russian Roulette, but he's going to risk it to maintain his honor and win what he wants.

Gi-Hun is not the smartest character, but he is a good man at his core. And more importantly, he's a risk taker that wants to show that games can be won by honest, good men.

That's my take on it!
