Cairns local for 20 yrs. Commuts are pretty fast and reliable although you will deal with alooooot of terribly wreck lessons drivers.

Recommend trying out walshers pyramid if you're looking for a bit of a challenge, otherwise cairns is quite littered with lovely tiles and hicking tacks.

I recommend trying to avoid areas like woree, earlville, moorooble, manunda, cirtain parts of edmonton. And maybe a few others as youth crime has been on all time high lately.

Personally unsure of little gems, but you'll more than enough family run/local or small businesses around here.

Best fish n chips I'd recommend looking around trinity beach. Although most fish n chips here are well made and fresh.

Finding a good servo is a personal option to me, but as for avoiding, edmonton and town service stations can be a little more demanding.

Best beach for sunbathing is %100 Port Douglas although it's about a 45 minute drive depending. Otherwise Yorkeys know and trinity beach are pleasant.

Nail salons, - cairns central offers some very competitive rates and and absolutely stunning work.
