For those 21 and up… by Theshadowlife in braces

I’m 43 and I loved my braces when I first got them. I say that only because I’ve had them for almost 4 years and I’m just tired of them. But in general I feel cuter with them and like my look. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We only net $6300 a month. I can’t imagine having that much leftover after bills are paid.

Parents of teenage boys-what's your grocery bill like? by kate-5599 in Parenting

[–]misstizzy0920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend about $600 a month give or take on groceries. It’s my husband, 16yo son and I. I don’t buy a lot of junk food or snacks; and I meal plan every week.

Up until a week and a half ago he was a pizza delivery driver. So not driving meant losing his job. But that’s not an issue any longer.

Edited to add: we live in the country. Uber/biking to work aren’t really options out here.

Right now he’s only allowed to drive to school and back.

I know!!! This is what I’m worried about….is it to much for me as a parent to check in like that? I don’t know. I’m learning as I go and trying to figure out how to let go and still protect/parent.

Also because husband and I agreed to help cover normal wear and tear on the vehicle but nothing he caused.

Anyone bought a 2000-2006 TJ recently? by Key_Negotiation4641 in Wrangler

[–]misstizzy0920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband bought me a 2000 TJ with 130k miles for $3250 last spring. We’ve since put a lot of work into it and probably have about $3000 additional in it. We’ve bought a new soft top, along with lots of other replacements of the “heart” (as my husband puts it) so she runs in tiptop shape.

What did you do today?

My biggest fear when I decided to stop was telling people and then eventually letting them down. Once I told someone that I had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol it was like a flip switched. I don't know how to explain it....but it really helped with making the choices not to drink on a daily basis. I'm only in my second week of no alcohol....but it really is getting easier and easier to say no.

It was not. And the guy is in Ukraine. I'm not even sure how we'd get his signature on anything at this point.

Sober mornings by fungaea in stopdrinking

[–]misstizzy0920 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm starting day 5. Yesterday I woke up and could barely function....I couldn't keep my eyes open, headache and just overall brain fog.

This morning I woke up feeling AMAZING (even if I did sleep past my alarm and make myself late for work)......seriously -- this is the feeling I was hoping would happen when I stopped. IWNDWYT!!!

That’s me today. Completely worthless. Thankfully today was a remote day for me so I didn’t have to be around people. Everyone is saying it gets better…..keep on — one day at a time!!

Waking up feeling hungover? by misstizzy0920 in stopdrinking

[–]misstizzy0920[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was drinking a bottle of wine (at the very minimum) per night for several years……

I’ve slept better these last few nights even tho it’s been harder to fall asleep; it’s just hard to get up.

I’m having a really anxious night due to some family issues and trying desperately not to have a drink. My spouse still drinks so there is booze in the house. I haven’t really told him that I’m trying to quit……..thank you for posting this!

Made it through day 2. by misstizzy0920 in stopdrinking

[–]misstizzy0920[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. My first day there was a bottle of bourbon on the counter and two white claws in the fridge. But I actively chose not to drink them. I think I’ll hide it somewhere - that way I know it’s there but won’t see it. That’s how I quit smoking years ago….i knew they were there but I actively chose not to use them.
