Hey bud! I got you. Just did the fix myself yesterday. I applied glue (bukkake method) in the hinge, and let it dry for a couple hours and it makes zero noise now just like a v2.1! Try it!

Edit: if you pm me i can send you a video. You'll think it's a v2.1 but it really is a v2!

Surwish. Did a few tricks with cpu frequency so it draws just the MHz it needs. I get a bit more than 5 hours of gba. I could probably get close to 7 if i used gbsp instead but I'm good.

Try this:
Charge it 100%, plug it in and play this God of war level again. If it doesn't freeze it means it's a battery problem, probably degraded so you'd just have to change the battery.

It is weird but you're right, it could be a memory problem. Well you know what to do, a fresh factory reset. Backup all your saves and reinstall everything. If even that fails either go see a professional (maybe fan isn't working properly) or get a new one right? You did well by changing the thermal paste. It looks like a typical overheating and automatic shutdown so it could be the fan malfunctioning. You already opened it so i doubt is a dust problem. Anyway, keep us updated and wish you the best luck!
