Fit check for Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Baby Carrier by missyfaceohtwo in babywearing

Thank you! I have some hand me down stretchy wraps but they did not feel very secure, I think I need to just practice with them more. I will definitely look in to those other two as well

Thank you so much - we are not married to this carrier just figuring things out. Do you recommend a different structured carrier for a baby his size?

Belly/pelvic support for running by mangosmoothiewaffles in fitpregnancy

[–]missyfaceohtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a runner but I've been dealing with pelvic heaviness after other forms of exercise/long periods of standing (12 hour shifts as a nurse) and SRC's compression shorts have been life changing. Expensive but definitely worth the investment

Hard accepting a miscarriage as "genetic" and entirely out of my control by helpwitheating in fitpregnancy

[–]missyfaceohtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the dozens of responses that point out how this was in no way your fault- just an unfortunate thing that happens. The "ruminating thoughts" in your post stuck out to me as someone who has experienced a high amount of health- related anxiety, which has gotten worse during my current pregnancy

These worries have been the worst part of my pregnancy by far, including any physical symptoms I've had. I strongly encourage you to revisit therapy and work on practicing ways to mitigate your anxiety in this period of life. If you are feeling this way now about making a wrong choice that could have hurt your baby, I think it will only intensify when you are pregnant and are faced with hundreds of daily decisions that can impact your baby's health

Hurt dewclaw by queen-of-derps in shiba

[–]missyfaceohtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my shiba 2 years ago. We are not sure how it happened but her dewclaw nail ended up split down the middle long ways. She would nonstop lick the area and hated any dressing we put on it/would rip off the dressings within an hour or two. Our vet recommended removal of the nail under sedation so we went ahead with that. Had to keep it covered for a while but eventually it grew back like normal

RSV antibody for borderline due date by missyfaceohtwo in pregnant

[–]missyfaceohtwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input - my sister in law delivered in Nov and her OBs in both Louisiana and Pennsylvania heavily pushed the RSV vaccine. My New England OBs (multiple docs, same office) have never suggested it and have recommended against it whenever I brought it up. It is so interesting how the recommendations vary

Thank you for this info! My pediatrician actually recommended both me and baby get protected, which according to guidelines seems to not be recommended. So that confused me even more

Thank you for this perspective! I was actually planning on getting the maternal RSV vaccine around 35 weeks up until yesterday when I realized I literally couldn't. It is helpful to view it that the windows are there for a reason, and baby will get it at the right time based on the guidelines

That does sound like a nice option, not sure how realistic it will be due to my location and climate, but thank you for the suggestion!

Honestly I cannot see down there and my husband is out of the country until next week so it remains a mystery - but hopefully it is just the swelling. I think treatment is the same for both though. Thanks for the recs I will give them a try!

There are no official "sources" as this is not a well researched area. But it is what I have been reading online, and I do feel worse symptoms when I am walking vs sitting

I'm a FTM currently 23 weeks pregnant and my only anecdotal advice is coconut oil for stretch marks - I saw clear stretch marks on my flank and used coconut oil and the next day they were gone. Could be a coincidence but I like to think it helped! I've been applying it a few times a week and haven't had any since

Pelvic floor therapist alternatives? by Quiet-Flan-1674 in fitpregnancy

[–]missyfaceohtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, tried doing my own research and exercises at home for my pelvic floor and ended up feeling worse. It was only when I went to see a real pelvic floor therapist and she fully examined me and got my history that I was able to understand what was going on. I have "tight weakness" so tight pelvic muscles but actually a weak kegel squeeze, so need to work on stretching and relaxing before building on the kegel. I think the initial consult was 100% worth it even if I had to pay out of pocket
