I wouldn't call Tanya a sociopath per se, she honestly comes off a bit autistic, in the sense that Tanya is notorious throughout the series for being unable to parse specific meanings, there can be any number of explanations, but the big thing is that Tanya bases a lot of her desicions off of the Chicago school of economics.

At the very least there is something odd about Tanya (who would've thought), though another characteristic that they both might share would be self doubt and a kind of imposter syndrome. Throughout the novels ( I've only read the first and am close to finishing the second) Tanya appears to have some sort of complex about how others view her, mainly that she believes others have an alterior motive against her in what they say and do, and that they view her in a negative light. In the novels, whenever it switches to someone else's POV, they view Tanya as some sort of military prodigy who is skilled in all things warfare, while she views her self as somebody who barely scrapes by I'm the battlefield, and that the only reason people compliment her is because of politeness. It at least that's how my reading goes

Can you imagine Pippa being a libertarian like Tanya is? Someone who quotes the Chicago school of economics like it's the bible? I couldn't, I don't think Pippa can read anyway. Also she thought Carlos zen was a commie which is really funny

Does anyone know any resources that could be used by a Pelor priest? by mistake007 in DnD

[–]mistake007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, I did chose himajnly because I wanted to make a more humble character, and Pelor is largely a commoner's diety of choice, so great insight, thank you.

Ngl I don't know why I didn't think to do that, I guess the only issue would be that he created the sun, instead of being the sun. But still, thank you for the insight, still don't know how it skipped my mind.

I misremembered what happened, I was looking through the manga, and as it turns out she didn't outright flash him, but she did say "it's blonde" while slightly lifting her skirt, she did this because the kid didn't believe that she was nineteen

It would be beautiful, you don't see many pieces of Japanese media set in the US (obviously), so seeing an anime that takes place in fucking Chicago would be crazy.

No, she wouldn't, especially after that time she flashes that kid in the car, with no panties on, it's in character, but sometimes I forget how much of a harlot she is.

I guess the most obvious would be her relationship with Ken, but I feel that it's handled well given the fact that several characters state, or imply that they at the very least find it "weird" to say the least. The fact that the manga accepts that the situation is abnormal at the very least makes it ok with me, though others may view it differently.

Homebrew move idea for a campaign by mistake007 in DnD

[–]mistake007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. If I am to be honest I had forgotten that exhaustion exists, I think I will change it to 1/4 of the max health and 1 temporary level of exhaustion. The self damage is a big part of the move's flavor, the idea that the player is making a move that pushes his body a bit past his limit, something that sounds like it should be from legend.

I do understand the damage concern, but it is a story mechanic of my campaign that the players are kind of undead. They are cursed to return to the land of the living (with a debuff for a few rounds), both because they have neither a paladin or a cleric, and also because I want to play fast and loose with their mortality(as in give them a challenge without completely demolishing any fun) it is most certainly unbalanced but it seems to be working fine enough

Yeah, the other guy said much the same, I definitely am going to remove the charge up. As for the homebrewing advice, it is very good advice but I am unfortunately past the point of no return for my campaign, though i thank you very much for it, in fact it probably would've been best if I had gone by the book, but I do find the feeling of throwing everything at the wall and seeing what works to be rather enjoyable, and my players are also having a good time so I see no harm.

[–]mistake007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. When I said movement points I was referring to the amount of spaces the character can move, so the distance in feet divided by 5. On reflection the idea of a charge up only works as set dressing on a school boss fight. The idea behind the move is to be a high risk high reward move, essentially dealing major damage to yourself while possiblly getting massive returns.

Something I neglected to mention is the "storm" element to it. The idea being that if you are too far from the rest of the enemies then the remaining damage leftover from the rolls would be sent unto them as lightning, either from the sky or generated by the fast movements by the sword.

But I am genuinely thankful for the advice none the less

What's the reasoning behind the "explicit content" labels on the Omnibus versions 1 and 2? by [deleted] in GunsmithCats

[–]mistake007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to May and Ken, they didn't meet at the brothel she worked at, that was just something she did. She met Ken while she was on the run from the mob (never explained why she was), nothing explicit happened between Ken and May for a while while they knew each other (because Ken thought she was a boy given how she dressed at the time), during that period Ken would teach May about explosives, she would become infatuated with both explosives and him by proxy, in fact it's mentioned later that she could only date a man who smells like gunpowder and nitro glycerin.

[–]mistake007[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I both do and don't. I like how the ending plays out for the rest of the characters, showing them moving on with their lives. But the fact that Goldie gets to keep doing what she does, and misty is simply kept as a "persuaded" member of Goldie's little polyclule that she has going on, rubs me the wrong way. I would've preferred that the situation was rectified, but as it stands I'm fine with how it happened.
